SPLIT CITY UPDATE SUMMER 2020: VINTAGE BLAZERS

Thank you so much for all your kind messages. I'm feeling better today, it seems like the migraine attack is finally over (fingers crossed). Today I will share two outfits with you, both of them featuring  borrowed vintage blazers. In addition, I'll share two cute spots to visit in Split city if you're feeling like grabbing something to eat or drink. My last post was also about Split city so check it out for more info.
RESTAURANT ASIA IN SPLIT 3 NEIGHBORHOOD
You might remember Asia restaurant behind me. I already wrote about it in this restaurant review post.  As I said back then, this Asian restaurant is located in my old neighbourhood Split 3 (address: street Poljička cesta 39 ). We dinned there twice since March and many times in the past. Long shorty short, I still recommend paying it a visit. Speaking of Asian restaurants, I'm also a regular visitor both  in the other Chinese restaurant in vicinity (Pearl of Orient, address: street Jurja Dobrile 1). Last time I dined there was last week. I don't visit Split as often as I did in the past because of this whole virus situation but when I do, I pay these restaurants a visit. Split 3 is one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Split city. I just love its modern architecture and as you can see the dining options are pretty good as well
THE STORY OF MY OUTFIT PLUS DIGITAL FASHION ILLUSTRATIONS
I made some new fashion illustrations by painting over some of my old ones. You know that I've started doing a bit of digital fashion illustrating. Not using any fancy computer programs yet, only Paint 3D so far. I love how it allows me to edit and paint on illustrations I already made. It also a nice way to still do art even when I can't afford any new art supplies or don't have them with me or lack the time to order some. Let's get back to the outfit. I redid my fashion illustrations to fit the vibes of this look.
A GREEN VINTAGE BLAZER WORN WITH A FLORAL SKIRT
I feel like this outfit is giving my nineties and eighties vibes at the same time. There was no label on this blazer but I know it's vintage because I remember it from way back. I actually borrowed it from my mother's closet. It is part of a suit, but the skirt was too big for me (despite the fact that I gained something like 20 pounds since corona started).

WHERE TO HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE WITH A VIEW? DVOR RESTAURANT
I wrote about Dvor restaurant a few years back (you can read the original post here). Dvor is a lovely restaurant and cafe bar in Split city. I haven't dined there yet myself, I only tried their desserts but I can definitely recommend Dvor as a place to have a drink and desserts. Stop there to enjoy the view and have yourself a cup of coffee, juice, a glass of wine (depending on your preference) or beer. Once I dine there, I'll let you know how  it went. I always forget to plan a dinner there and only remember to shop there when I walk past it. Typically I visit it between meal times, so I just order coffee there. You know me, a coffee addict if there ever was one.  Plus, I don't drink alcohol for health reasons, so wine is not an option for me. That's a shame because their wine list is amazing. The last time we were there I checked it and I recognized many of the names on the list. They offer a lot of wines from island Hvar. Anyhow, this is a great place to relax.
A NAVY VINTAGE BLAZER WORN WITH A GREY DRESS
As for my outfit, I wore a vintage blazer from Varteks (a high quality clothing company from Croatia). I borrowed this blazer from my mother's closet. I have always loved Varteks (neither a sponsored nor an affiliated link) but they remain out of my price range. If there comes a day I can afford them, I'll shop away until then I'll only wear their blazers when I borrow them.

Thank you so much for visiting and commenting. Have a lovely day!

  2. Hi Ivana, I'm sorry to hear you have had migraine attacks but glad you are feeling much better now. I love vintage clothes and both blazers are definite keepers. Both compliment you very well. I love that most people love a Chinese takeaway, something I'd never give up lol. Your illustrations are fantastic as always. Glad you are enjoying the 3D painting. Take care : ) xo

  3. I like your vintage blazers very much! The green one is so vibrant and it looks super with the pinky floral skirt. I missed reading about the migraines, sorry to hear about that. That's awful.
I really like Chinese restaurants- my favourite cuisine after Thai! I love the food so much!

  6. Dear Ivana, I'm relieved to read you're feeling better. Migraine can be so bad and only those people who suffer on migrain know this. I love your vintage blazers - and I ask myself if you can find a blazer in this green today? You combined them very well and I hope now that one day I'll be again able to visit these restaurants in Split.
    Please take care <3

  7. I love both your blazers! Varteks made some fantastic quality clothes, I occasionally come across their vintage mens suits in charity shops and they always sell well.

    1. I wish we had charity shops here where one could come across such gems. We only have a few second hand shops here and they mostly sell imported clothes. :(

  11. Glad to hear your migraine attack has gone and you're starting to feel better. I hope the Summer holidays will give you time to relax and leave some of the stress you've been experiencing behind. Love both of your Mum's blazers you're wearing here. You really live in a most beautiful - and for many people unknown - part of the world. Thank you for being my guide! xxx

  13. So glad to hear your migraine attack is over, Ivana - those can be brutal. I've just come off a week of having my neck so tight I couldn't move it (massive headaches, and so much neck pain). It's the worst.

Love your wonderful blazers. I think the neon one is late 90s (not too heavy on the shoulder pads). Love that navy one - you can always use a slightly oversized blazer!

Good for you for visiting your local restaurants! They need your support!

    1. Hm, it is possible it in late nineties but I think I saw pictures of my mother wearing it in the eighties. I'm not entirely sure, I'd need to check it up with her.
