10 WAYS TO WEAR A STRIPED SKIRT: SUSTAINABLE FASHION FILES

Summer always flies by quickly. If this make you sad, I have good news. You don't have to put away your favourite summer items just yet. With the clever use of layering, you can wear most (if not all) of your summer wardrobe well into autumn/fall. Moreover, you can even wear your summer favourites in winter. Today I'll show you ten ways to wear a striped skirt. Back when summer started, I proclaimed this striped skirt one of my summer staples. It really is, for this skirt is so easy to style.  However, the truth is that this skirt can be worn in any season and I'm going to prove it by showing how I wore it for cold weather and transitional weather as well. While summer is not over yet, the time has come to consider our transitional outfits. With sustainable fashion being a hot topic, it is important to understand that you don't gave to always buy new items to refresh your wardrobe for a new season. You can make the items you already own feel new by styling them differently. How to transition into autumn with a striped skirt? It is actually easier than it looks. Take this summer outfit bellow for example. Here I styled this striped skirt with a second hand white tee that I love (featured here), a straw bag (featured here) and a pair of leopard heels (featured here). These are all items I had for quite some time, but this outfit still felt new because I have never worn them together. Do you understand what I mean? You might notice that I often pair this striped skirt with striped tops, that is because I like the striped on striped look. If you do too, you should know that is a pretty easy outfit to put together. By changing your shoes, for instance, opting for sneakers instead of heels, you can totally change the feel of your outfit. I love transitional styling because it gives us an opportunity to play with layers. Take a look bellow. See how I paired this striped skirt with a striped top? You can easily turn this outfit into an autumn one by adding on a striped blazer. Once the days get cold, you can add a leather coat on top to make sure you're keeping warm. Thus, with the addition of a coat, you can turn your autumn styling into a winter one. There is nothing to it!

Another useful transitional tip I have to share is to rely on warm shoes, especially boots. In fact, grabbing a pair of boots is a great way to keep your autumn or winter outfit nice and cozy. I often pair boots with skirts and this striped skirt is no exception. When I style this striped skirt for autumn and winter, I often pair it with heeled boots to make the outfit more feminine and chic. Tights and leggings are also an obvious layering choice. Finally,  leg warmers are another fabulous way to make sure you feel warm when wearing a skirt.
