How To Style Jeans in Summer? Yellow Accents For a Visit To Bunica river

This morning was marked my attempt to get back in shape. After not exercising for nearly a month  because I had an operation last July, I decided to get back on track.  I've exercised this morning and I'm now a bit sore, but I do plan to exercise more in the afternoon. It is never easy to start working out after an operation, but what must be done, must be done. I'm fully recovered now, so I don't have any excuses. I suppose it is time to make time for fitness again! Today I'll mostly talk clothes, though. That and share with you some wonderful Herzegovina's nature. That doesn't sound so bad, right? I'll leave fitness talk for some other day.

How To Style Jeans in Summer?

Jeans are not my first option for Summer, I have to admit to that. As you might have noticed I prefer to rely on dresses and skirts during the warmer months of the year. Still, denim has its advantages. It is very versatile and it is easy to dress it up and down. One of the great advantages of jeans is that they are both comfortable and seem to have that 'cool' factors. Jeans are timeless! Today I'll share with you a simple outfit proposal. It's all very basic: a pair of jeans paired with a polka dot t -shirt (another gift from my aunt), and completed with a yellow bag and scarf. Vibrant colours like the yellow of my bag match jeans nicely. A pair of jeans can balance pretty much everything. Polka dots print is always a good choice, and this summer it has certainly been a popular choice. Do you like polka dots? Do you wear jeans often? How do you style jeans in summer?

Yellow Accents For a Visit To Bunica river

Once again, I'm taking you for a visit to Bunica river. Visiting this lovely recreational area is a must if you find yourself in vicinity of Mostar. It's such a lovely and green area. Such a perfect place to go for a stroll and relax a bit. If you're visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina, do keep it in mind.  Having a happy place is so important, don't you agree?  Tell me, where is your happy place? How often do you visit it? What makes a happy place happy, I wonder. Does our home count as a happy place. I sure hope so. Everyone wants to feel happy and comfortable at their home. Still, it is fun to go out and find 'other happy places', isn't it? Is our happy places something fixed or not? I guess it can depend on us. We might be the type to have many happy place, but we can also be the type to have only a few or just one. For someone a happy place can be some spot that has a sentimental value, for example a place where someone has proposed to their wife, or something like that. It's always fascinating to think of the way we humans try to find, create and maintain happiness, isn't it? I could probably write forever about this subject....about our pursuit for happiness.

Now that I think of it, I have probably showed you all my favourite places here on blog, my dearests spots both in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This place in particular has been featured numerous times. If you have visited my blog before, you probably know that I'm a regular visitor and explorer of Bunica river. Indeed, the area surrounding Bunica river is one of my favourite places. I suppose I could call it my happy place. My last visit was not to long ago (here). If you want to see more of this place, you can always visit some  of my previous posts herehere here here and hereJust a little reminder: don't forget to stay hydrated in the summer, especially if you're planning on working out, or engaging in some other physical activity such as walking or sightseeing. When it comes to drinks, water is always a great choice!

Whenever I'm here, I love to stop by for coffee at motel and restaurant Kolo, Buna. Not that I'm advertising this place, but it is really lovely.  It is very hard not to feel happy surrounded by amazingly beautiful Bunica river.  I know I'm repeptive, but I swear that every time I'm here I need to pinch myself to make sure it's real. It looks like an episode from National Geographic. Since this place is sooo close to Mostar city, there is no reason for me not to visit it often. It hasn't been long at all since I ate a lovely fruit salad here (read that post here) and this time I opted for their fabulous fig cake.

  1. Dearest Ivana,
this is really a lovely place - no wonder you like it here. You can be proud of yourself that you start training again. I also try to stay "summer fit". (There will be a new post on this subject soon.) You look very fresh and stylish in your jeans. Here it is currently much, much too hot - I cann't wear pants in this heat, certainly not jeans. Maybe in autumn again ...
    Hugs my dear,

  3. Okay, so I'm not quite sure what made this post stand out so much to me but the writing was done beautifully! Again, I can't put my finger on why exactly but it was the perfect balance of lighthearted and formal, and you got straight to the point with each style option and topic you touched on. Even though you moved swiftly from one to the next, you still provided details and plenty of descriptions which helped bring life to your writing. Really great job Ivana! I also really like the editing of the first photo! With each post your skills are getting more and more complex – I never know what to expect from you next ;) I'm with you on this one too. Jeans are not my first choice in the summer – they are for fall and winter however – but when I do wear them polka dots are the way to go. I have a blue and white polka dot blouse I love wearing with blue jeans. Never too much blue right?

  18. I'm glad to hear that you are fully recovered and well enough to exercise again. This is such an effortlessly chic way to style jeans and that polka dot top is just adorable! I just got the best fitting Citizens of Humanity jeans but I haven't worn them as much a I would like because the weather in NYC has been so hot lately.

What's more, I recognized this place (and restaurant) from ones of your older posts - this place truly looks magical <3 Moreover, you look so lovely in this outfit - yellow scarf is great pop of color in this look, Ivana :)

  23. Dear Ivana, kudos to you, you started your workouts again after your operation! And I have to admit I neither wear jeans often in summer. Like you I prefer dresses and skirts. Even today, when it cooled down a lot, I wasn't able to pull on jeans in the morning. Instead I opted again for a skirt :) But what you write about jeans is true. They are versatile and easy to dress up or down. How you styled your jeans looks fantastic and I see that river is also a very beautiful place. Thanks for sharing and happy weekend!
