A MOUNTAIN CHURCH BLIDINJE (ACRYLIC ON CANVAS, 20+ HOURS)

Image
It took me approximately +20  hours spanned over the course of three days to finish this painting of mountain church of saint Elias. Yes, I didn't get much sleep in the last three days and I'm not feeling so great as a consequence but that's fine, I rarely enjoy the painting process itself and I've been suffering from insomnia anyway. The original painting was made and gifted but art prints (and prints on various products) are available in my redbubble shop ( link ). THE STORY OF THE PAINTING- THE MOUNTAIN CHURCH OF SAINT ELIAS- I sure didn't enjoy painting this one. I wanted to make the painting more realistic and lifelike so I opted for a fine brush and many many strokes on the details. It took me good eight hours just to finish the road leading to the church and the stone house in the foreground. I felt like curling into a ball and crying later that evening. Yes, painting isn't always enjoyable. It is more the finished product that I'm after. I paint be...

FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: MY INSPIRATIONS

Image
Hello readers! How are you? I'm alright, pretty much working on new art all the time. Friday is here and I have a few fashion illustrations to share with you.  Three of them are fashion sketches (medium coloured pencils) and one is an aquarelle sketch. I'm also going to show you an outfit I wore for a visit to Buna river and Bunica recreational area near Mostar (last visited HERE ). We visited Buna maybe a week or so ago, but I haven't posted this outfit (well, not the complete outfit anyway). This post will be short and sweet, my outfit and a few illustrations and that is that. Scroll down to see and read more. THE FASHION SKETCH- RUNAWAY LOOK (COLOURED PENCILS ON A5 PAPER) THE STORY OF MY OUTFIT- All of the items in this post are old and the scarf is borrowed from my husband. THE UZOR DRESS- I'm wearing  a from Uzor dress (i.e. a Croatian fashion house that closed down), it's one of a kind dress too, made only in one size. When Uzor was closing, I remember the sal...

INSPIRED BY MICA, SHEILA AND BLAIR (FASHION DRAWINGS)

Image
Hello there! I'm back with more fashion illustrations featuring bloggers I love and follow and you know what that means. It's time for yet another Inspired by. ..post, that is, a regular feature on my blog where I illustrate and recommend bloggers. This time I illustrated Mica from blog Away from Blue   (these two outfits and this one )  Sheila from  Ephemera  (this outfit HERE ) and Blair from Atlantic Pacific . Scroll down to see and read more.  Despite this being a regular feature, I don't think it ever happened before that I posted six  Inspired by   p o s ts in a course of a week  or done so much illustrations in a relatively short span of time. I'm also currently working on some other art projects, such as landscapes and destination paintings. The way I was able do that was by putting all my time or energy into it.  My days lately are basically a circle of WAKE UP- ILLUSTRATE-BLOG-SLEEP-REPEAT. Today I have finally left my house, if on...

INSPIRED BY VIX, LOVELY AND AKIKO (WATERCOLOUR PENCILS, AQUARELLE VERSION)

Image
I'm back with yet another Inspired by post. This time I illustrated the same bloggers as yesterday but this time I used watercolour pencils to do it (as opposed to coloured pencils I used yesterday). So, the fashion illustrations I'll share with you today are actually more aquarelle illustrations (or even mini paintings if you will) than drawings.  Once again I illustrated Akiko from blog  Kimono Snack , Lovely from blog  My Name is Lovely  and Vix from blog  Vintage Vixen . When it comes to outfits Vix and  Lovely, I illustrated the same outfits as yesterday . So, it's the same outfits and even poses just I'm using different media. When it comes to Akiko, I didn't illustrate the same outfit but a very similar one, so it's almost the same (see it HERE ).  I'll also repeat the links  I shared yesterday- you can see the photo  the reference for Lovely's outfit  here  and Vix's outfit  here .  This time I devoted even...
