top: old, skirt: modna kuća Edi, heels: peko, bag: old Hello, how are you? I'm sharing a new outfit with you today. To great this new week, I'm wearing something new and something old (but nothing borrowed). The new item I'm wearing is this beautiful hand made birch tree hair clasp. I'm a big fan of hair clasps, but I've never owned a traditionally made one! I didn't know this until a year or so ago, but birch bark has been used in Russia to make accessories and household items for centuries. I love hand made items, and while you can find traditionally hand made wood items here, I haven't really seen anything similar before because this wood carving technique is unique to Russia. I got this birch tree hair accessory as a gift from a fellow blogger Natalia Lianlina . You can visit her wonderful blog In The Writer's Closet here . I'm not sure can you see the birch tree hair accessory in the photographs because I wore a side braid, but you...

Hello there! How's life been treating you? Are you enjoying Spring? I thought that today I might show you some of my art. I don't know about you, but I always love to see the 'making of' tutorials, videos and posts. I always enjoy seeing the effort that goes into creation of anything. I hope that you will find it interesting.  In addition, I will share with you two coloured pencils fashion illustrations. I've been working on my developing my art skills a lot lately. I know I've been saying that a lot, but really it's true. I've been spending a lot of time drawing and illustration. Maybe it is the spring that makes me feel so creative? Scroll down...

Outfit Proposal: Heels Worn With a Parsley Print Skirt

I'm having so much fun shopping my own closet right now, that I'm not even sure how I will ever get back to regular shopping or will I. Not too long ago, I wrote about why shopping our closet is ecological and ethical thing to do (you can read that post here ). In the meantime,  I've enjoyed shopping my closet more than ever before. Perhaps it is because Spring is finally here and I'm feeling those spring vibes. Not that I'm preaching this approach or anything like that. Everyone knows what is best for them and if buying new pieces regularly is a part of your style, that's perfectly alright. Rather than to preach anything, it was my intention to share what works for me personally. I find that shopping my own closet helps me feel less stressed and more in control of my wardrobe, but that might be just me. That all being said, I do believe there are some clear benefits to re- wearing clothes, and that was the point of that rather long article I wrote. Anyhow, I...

Fashion Illustrations of the way: Purple, Green and Blue ( Watercolours and Markers)

Happy Monday dear people! How are you? I hope you're doing well. Today I will share my new art with you with you, mainly my 3 new paintings/illustrations.  The medium for all of them is markers and watercolour on paper. Basically, all of them are mixed media paintings/illustrations. They are a bit more artistic than the other fashion illustrations I've been working on lately, but that was kind of the point. At the moment,  I like how they turned out, but who knows I might get very self-critical later so perhaps best to share them right now. These 3 paintings were created without a plan and without a reference of any kind, straight from my head to paper you might say.  Improvised art can teach us a lot, I think. Besides making time for studying and learning about art, I also try to make time to just improvise and create art in a more spontaneous way. Using a reference can be a great way to improve our drawing skills, but I think that drawing without a reference is just ...
