VISIT NATIONAL PARK KRKA WITH ME!

Krka National Park is a vast protected natural area located near Šibenik town. It covers a natural area of 109 km². Encompassing the most stunning sections of beautiful Krka river, this national park has a lot to offer. Krka national park is a wonderfully preserved natural area of exceptional ecological value. The ecosystems of Krka river are fully preserved here.  This natural park is open for tourist visits and is quite a popular destination.  I have first visited it as a kid, on an organized school trip and I remember being mesmerized by its beauty. This summer I visited it with my significant other. Scroll down to see  and read more.modaodaradosti travel and fashion blog national park krka

We arrived to Krka in the morning hours (but not too early, I remember that it was already hot). We bought the tickets, hiked down to the river and then we saw the museum and the stone houses, had a cup of coffee in one of the restaurants, took some photos and agreed on where to go. I wanted us to hike the park following the pathway so we did that and did a round tour. We really enjoyed our hike and took tons of photographs. It was hard to select photographs for this post because we took so many. Anyhow, when we were done circling the park, we had some ice-cream, lounged around for a bit and then headed home. I'm not sure for how long we stayed there (I'd have to check my photographs) but I'm sure it was at least a few hours.  We didn't get tired from the hike because we stopped along the way and besides: How could you possibly get tired with so much beauty surrounding you?

ARRIVING TO NATIONAL PARK KRKA- HOW TO GET THERE? We arrived there by car. You can also arrive by bike or bus or sign up for an organized trip.

WHERE TO BUY TICKETS? You don't have to buy tickets in advance, you can always buy them at the gate. We bought our tickets at the entrance and for a good price. We used up the 50% percent discount they gave at the start of the seasons, so we did really well.

SHOULD YOU TAKE A BUS FROM THE ENTRANCE OR WALK DOWN? Cars are not allowed in the park. From the entrance door, we hiked down to the river. There is a free bus that takes tourists down to the river, but we preferred to hike (it's not a long hike). However, when we were done sight-seeing, we took the advantage of the bus for a ride up to the entrance. I think most people take the ride with the bus up to the entrance because of all the walking (most) do in this park.

WHAT TO DO IN KRKA NATIONAL PARK? There are lots of things to do here: walk the pathways, swim in the river, take a boat ride, visit the museum, buy souvenirs, take photographs, explore etc. There is a long pathway that I definitely recommend taking as it is one of the best ways to see the park. VISIT NATIONAL PARK KRKA WITH ME #modaodaradosti fashion, art and travel blogVISIT NATIONAL PARK KRKA WITH ME #modaodaradosti fashion, art and travel blogVISIT NATIONAL PARK KRKA WITH ME #modaodaradosti fashion, art and travel blogVISIT NATIONAL PARK KRKA WITH ME #modaodaradosti fashion, art and travel blog

CAN YOU SWIM IN THE PARK KRKA? Yes, swimming in the park is allowed. There is only one spot where it isn't allowed and there is table indicating that you shouldn't swim there. All other areas are fine for swimming. The reason that particular spot is not best for swimming is that it is hard to access. We didn't swim in national park Krka because we didn't bring our swimming suits, but I did seek refreshment in the river at one point.

WHEN TO VISIT KRKA NATIONAL PARK?
We visited Krka national park early in the summer, before the tourists arrived. Most visitors were locals and there weren't many of them either, so we almost felt like we had this national park to ourselves.
WHERE TO DINE IN KRKA NATIONAL PARK?
There are several restaurants in the park, but I can't recommend any of them. Their selection of meals and dishes was extremely small and there was absolutely nothing for someone with Chron's disease. We did have coffee and ice-cream and they were great, so I can recommend buying refreshments there, no need to carry them. As for food, if you want a wider selection of dishes, visit restaurants outside this park.

THE STORY OF MY OUTFIT- ALL ABOUT COMFORT- HOW I WORE IT BEFORE
My outfit was pretty simple. I wore my trusted sandals ( I will post about 30 ways to wear them soon), a floral skirt I bought this summer, a graphic tee, a long scarf, and an oversize hat.  As usual, nothing is new about this outfit. It was a good outfit for the occasion. I have used this long scarf as a cover up against the sun, something I do pretty often.

NATIONAL PARK KRKA: A NATURAL OASIS
To conclude, national park Krka is definitely worth a visit. We had a great time there and I cannot recommend it enough. I'm really happy I had the opportunity to visit it again this Summer. I can't wait to return there some day. That would be all for today from Krka national park. Bellow are a few more photographs and then we will wrap this post up.

  22. Hello Ivana! How you doing? Enjoying these days? I see you still have a good weather over there, same in Barcelona, no need to pull off a jacket for now :)

Didn't know about the existence of this national park, the name sounds good but maybe difficult to pronounce for me (Krka) but I love how everything looks so clean and green and well protected, that's a difficult point when it comes to places like this but I'm happy to see you're able to visit the place and there is a certain respect for the surroundings!

I also love your outfit, pretty colorful and it is a expression of sunshine and happiness, of course it is a good look to visit a green place like this!

Good to know you're good and talk you soon!

  27. Hello Ivana
This is definitely one of the most beautiful places you've ever shown us here on the blog, the natural beauty is breathtaking, no wonder that time has passed quickly. I would have taken a lot of pictures too !! I calculate how difficult it must have been to choose the best photographs for the post. Your floral look combined very well with the natural scenery of the park.
