      Yes it feels more like autumn, especially so in the last few days that were pretty sunny, but probably it's going to get cold here too soon enough.

In this post, I'll share with you a review of  The Count of Monte Cristo.  I don't go to theatre/movies often. In fact, years have been known to pass without me seeing a film on the big screen. However, when I saw the poster for the new 2024  The Count of Monte Cristo movie, I knew I simply had to go.  I really wanted to see this film, and I didn't even read the reviews or watch the trailer for it. I wasn't even intimidated by the fact it is a three hours long. Split is famous for its Unesco protected Old town that is basically a preserved ancient Roman palace, but there is more to Split then just its ancient part. As a lover of history, I often post about the old parts of Split. As a lover of architecture, I sometimes post about the parts of Split built in the seventies and eighties! If you have been following my blog for a while, you might have come across posts showcasing modern neighbourhoods such as Split 3  (with its University  Campus ),   Trstenik (with its signature skyscrapers) and Žnjan  (that is not restricted to the namesake beach but rather a whole neighbourhood). With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Bellucci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.   The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Mafia Queens of Mumbai (book ) vs. Gangubai Kathiawadi (film) review

Hello, dear readers! Today I shall review an Indian book Mafia Queens of Mumbai (  written by   Syed Hussain Zaidi and Jane Borges )  and a film Gangubai Kathiawadi ( directed by Sanjay Leela Bhasali .) . Is there a connection between the two? There certainly is. Both talk about life of a real person- Gangubai Kathiawadi, an Indian social activist with mafia ties born in 1907. However, in the book Gangubai is but a chapter, while in the movie she is the sole protagonist. Still,  Mafia Queens of Mumbai definitely inspired the movie Gangubai Kathiawadi.  I read the book before I watched the film, but the film is the reason why I read the book.  How come?
