All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern novel follows two story lines and uses framed narration. The Island of Missing Trees tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter. This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. I needed to emotionally process the story. The Island of Missing Trees is set in London and Cyprus. The narration isn't chronological . The story jumps back and forth, following ...
Hello dear readers and fellow blog! In this post, we shall combine fashion. literature and illustration, meaning I'll share a book review accompanied by my outfits and illustrations. I shall review Miss Harriet, a short story or a novella by French writer Guy de Maupassant. Some sources say that Miss Harriet is a novella, and others that it's a short story. The fact that I read it in Maupassant's The Complete short stories edition, makes a case for the later. However, Miss Harriet 's considerably longer than most Maupassant's short stories, so I can understand it being described as a novella. Either way, it's an impressive piece of writing. I read it during the holiday season, and spoiler alert, it's a heavy read. Miss Harriet is a story that focuses on an unmarried women. I think it could be said that Miss Harries is a story about a lady who is trying to find meaning in life religion, nature and art. However, there is tragedy in this story, and toward...
Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! Welcome February! In this post, I'll show you around Mostar. If you haven't heard about it before or haven't stopped by this blog before, Mostar is a historical city in Bosnia and Herzegovina that is quite popular with the tourists. I mean what is not to love about Mostar- it's a stunning city and the weather is wonderful more often than not. In Winter, Mostar is quite sunny. While it's not always very warm in wintertime, it's never extremely cold. Mostar is a Mediterreanean city, and if you're visiting, dress accordingly. Naturally, I'll also share with you what I was wearing for being a tourist in my own city. This is a colour combo I wanted to try for a while. Speaking of colour, do you like seeing colour in Winter? I do. As much as I sometimes crave the elegance of an all black outfit, I do love to wear colours in Winter. I feel like people often overthink wearing colours and colourful outfits in Winter. I t...
Hello readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I'll take you to Međugorje in Herzegovina. I'm also going to meditate a bit on blogging and life. You know yesterday I spend a couple of hours tidying up my blog. I browsed my blog archives for a few hours, added links to some old posts, and organized many of my illustrations into collages. I used to post a lot of illustrations posts, but I wouldn't link them up with my other art post nor would I take proper photographs. Some of my old photographs of my art were quite dark, so it was actually hard to see my art. Moreover, a lot of those old sketches and illustrations were photographed in a hurry. Still, it's better than not being photographed at all. I'm glad I managed to photograph so much of my illustration and art work. Not all of my illustration work is good, even for sketches some things posted are super messy. However, if the amount of illustrations I posted over the year doesn't serve as a proof that I have...
Today I'm back with another outfit proposal. This time I'm going to show you how you can style a denim skirt for early spring. A denim skirt is a great classic, and it can be a lovely alternative to jeans. I already wrote down a few tips for styling dresses and skirts in early spring , you know for this period when it may not that warm. I recommended styling dresses and skirts with blazers paired with tights and boots. As you can see, I'm keeping to my advice. I paired my denim skirt with tights and biker boots. I also wore a pink turtleneck sweater and white vintage blazer. Lighter colours are a good way to invite spring. To finish the outfit, I opted for some straw accessories, that is, an oversize straw hat and a straw bag. I love to wear straw accessories to make my outfits look more spring time appropriate. Plus, I found that straw hats do really help with the whole protection against the sun thing. I love the sun as much as the next outdoorsy person, but I won't...

Beautiful photographs and views, it looks like the autumn is still there you live. I'm even envious of you a bit:)
ReplyDeleteYes it feels more like autumn, especially so in the last few days that were pretty sunny, but probably it's going to get cold here too soon enough.
