      Yes it feels more like autumn, especially so in the last few days that were pretty sunny, but probably it's going to get cold here too soon enough.

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. TRAVEL WITH MY ART #39- STJEPAN FORTRESS BLAGAJ (BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I'll share another destination painting of mine. You know what that means- it's time for another TRAVEL WITH MY ART post! Today I'm taking you to Herzeg Stjepan Kosaca fortress. This stunning historical fortress overlooking Blagaj in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a sight to behold. Trying to capture its magical beauty in a painting was a challenge!  The medium for this painting is acrylic paints on cotton canvas. The painting process was actually quite long and tedious. I've worked on this painting since Autumn and I only finished it towards the end of Summer. I rushed the painting towards the end, because I wanted to participate in the joint artist exhibition. There was a submission deadline to meet, so I submitted this canvas not feeling confident it's actually finished. Dear readers, what do we talk about when we talk about fashion? Is fashion a serious topic to be discussed? Is a worthy topic? Is fashion a worthy occupation? Should we pride ourselves in our interest to fashion or be ashamed of it?  Is fashion becoming a dirty world? Is not caring about fashion something that makes one relatable? If yes, why so?  Is fashion a form of art or a trivial interest? Is fashion shallow and vulgar? If yes, why so?  Why this negative perception of fashion? Why is it that fashion is something that is not supposed to be debated among serious or even decent people? Why it is not something that most of people would consider as a serious job choice? Let there be colour! (outfit post) / Neka bude boja (odjevna kombinacija)

It was over 40 degrees Celsius (that's over 100 Fahrenheit) when these photographs were taken. Seriously! I'm obviously a desert type when I'm able to enjoy being out at midday in a city that is practically an oven. If you did not know Mostar city is surrounded by mountains and hills which pretty much turns it into an urban oven. Yes, this city is a champion of unbelievably high temperatures during the Summer. So, this hat was as much a necessity as a fashion statement. Wearing a hat when temperature is over 100 Fahrenheit is a sound idea, believe me. Speaking of Fahrenheits,  have you read  Fahrenheit 451  by Ray Bradbury? You should, you know, it really is a brilliant dystopian novel. I find it uncanny how much some writers were able to guess the future, down to minute details. VISIT MDINA & RABAT WITH IVANA!

Hello dear readers! Today I'll invite you to join me on my visit to Mdina on Malta. I visited Mdina with my namesake friend in March 2022. It was three years ago that I visited Malta for a rather long (two week) long holiday during which I explored the island both with my friends and alone. I blogged about some of my visits, but I decided to save the best for last. Mdina has a fascinating history and hence deserves a post of its own.  Mdina is a historical fortified city, once a capital of Malta, that is still confined within its walls. What to say about this ancient capital of Malta? It has been populated since prehistory and it served as Malta's capital from ancient times to the middle ages.  It's a truly beautiful city and understandably -one quite popular with the tourists.
