Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I'll share another destination painting of mine. You know what that means- it's time for another TRAVEL WITH MY ART post! Today I'm taking you to Herzeg Stjepan Kosaca fortress. This stunning historical fortress overlooking Blagaj in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a sight to behold. Trying to capture its magical beauty in a painting was a challenge!  The medium for this painting is acrylic paints on cotton canvas. The painting process was actually quite long and tedious. I've worked on this painting since Autumn and I only finished it towards the end of Summer. I rushed the painting towards the end, because I wanted to participate in the joint artist exhibition. There was a submission deadline to meet, so I submitted this canvas not feeling confident it's actually finished. SWORD OF DESTINY BY ANDRZEJ SAPKOWSKI , THE WITCHER SERIES #2 (BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION)

 Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I will review Sword of Destiny , a fantasy book by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. Published in 1992,  Sword of Destiny is considered the second entry in the Witcher series. Despite the fact that The Last Wish was published the following year, it is considered the first book in the series. In total, there are eight books in the Witcher series.  Now, you might have heard of this Witcher series as there is both a popular game and TV series based on it!  In fact, this fantasy saga has become a part of modern culture, inspiring plays, songs, comic books, television series and video games.  This saga is so popular that it has been translated into 37 languages, making Andrzej Sapkowski the second most translated Polish author after Stanislaw Lem . THE ISLAND OF THE MISSING TREES BY ELIF SHAFAK (BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION)

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. SIEGE AND STORM & RUIN AND RISING BY LEIGH BARDUGO (BOOK REVIEWS)

In this post, I shall review both the second and the third novel in the Shadow and Bone trilogy written by Leigh Bardugo. In my last post, I published a pretty detailed review of the captivating first novel in the trilogy.  On overall, I'll do my best to avoid spoilers, but as this review will include some quotes, don't expect it to be completely spoiler free. Moreover, since the plot in the sequel follows directly on the first novel, you'll be able to figure out some things, such as the protagonist Alina and Mal obviously surviving. I don't think that's much of a spoiler anyway.  As I explained in my last post when I reviewed Shadow and Bone, I had a bit mixed feelings about the first novel in the series. I loved Shadow and Bone for its simple and engaging writing,  as well as a well constructed plot that was paired with a wonderful building, but I struggled connecting with the characters on a deeper level and was mildly irritated by some genre stereotypes. LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER BY D.H. LAWRENCE (BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION)

Hello, in this post I shall review Lady Chatterley's Lover. It used to be somewhat of a controversial book. Originally published in Italy almost a hundred years ago (in 1928), it had to wait for decades to be published in England. In fact, it wasn't until the 1960s, that the uncensured version of this novel wasn't published in English. When it was finally published as it was, it was put on a trial for obscenity in England! A trial it lost. Not surprisingly, if it is true that the prosecutor opening statement was: 'Is this a book you would want your wife or your servants to read?' Did somebody really think it was a good question to ask in the sixties?  If you read it as a modern reader, you'll probably wonder what all the fuss was about.
