Inspired by Jodie's Touch of Style: WATERCOLOUR FASHION ILLUSTRATION

Image
Hello darlings! Happy Monday to you! I've been working on fashion illustrations for most of the day, so you could say I have had a productive Monday so far. In fact, I've prepared a new fashion painting for my Inspired by feature. If you're a regular reader, then you'd know that Inspired by is a regular feature on my blog that consists of my fashion illustrations of bloggers. During the years, I've illustrated many beautiful bloggers, such as  Jessica Wang ,  Jessi Malay ,  Fashionably Idu ,  Paola Lauretano , Selvaggia (better known as Francesca  Romana Capizzi), Silvia , Vale ,   Rena and so on. Today I've illustrated three ladies from Jodie's touch of style blog : Jodie, Nancy and Charlotte. I've actually illustrated Jodie and her moms before (last summer), you can see that post here . Today I've decided to paint a new fashion illustration of them, this time using watercolours. I ended up using coloured pencil for some finishing touches, so...

HOW TO FIND THE PERFECT EASTER OUTFIT FOR YOURSELF? IDEAS AND TIPS

Image
You don't have to be Christian or religious to enjoy and celebrate Easter. Many of Eastern traditions  we know today actually predate Christianity. However, today I won't get into European Eastern customs and traditions (as fascinating as the theme is), but rather I'll talk about Easter day fashion. How to select a perfect Easter outfit? My advice is to start early, before all of the holiday stress. Take some time to figure out what kind of styles do you enjoy the most. You don't have to pick your outfit ahead of time if that is not your thing, but now is a good time to look for inspiration. That might help get you into the mood for Easter.  Festivities are certainly something most of us look forward to, but sometimes the stress of the holidays can get to us and make us enjoy those special days less. To ensure that doesn't happen, it is good to prepare in advance. Don't leave everything up to the last moment. Give your self time to rest (at least a little) ...

HOW TO ROCK THE SUIT LOOK? OUTFIT IDEAS AND TIPS

Image
The easiest way to rock the suit look is to find a suit you'll love and feel comfortable and then wear it until you get the hang of it. You can start by shopping your own closet, trying out different items and seeing what works for you. Often you'll find that you already have something in your closet you can work with. It is important to think of reducing our textile waste these days.  It is only if you can't find anything you like in your closets,  that you should hit the shops. Keep in mind that a suit is definitely a good investment. It is one of those must have items in our closet. I recently saw an article about some young girl who wore the same suit for three months on Instagram to point out how we should invest in quality items that can be worn multiple times, as opposed to indulging in fast fashion. A nice suit might be perfect for this kind of project, for there definitely are many ways to rock the suit look. I personally think the suit up look is great for any ...

HOW TO WEAR LEVIS JEANS WHEN SPRING IS NOT THAT WARM?

Image
Spring is not always warm and sunny so I've decided to show you two spring outfits for colder weather. What are we do to do when it is spring but it is still cold? I pretty much answered that question in some of my last posts with these instruction: dress warmly but opt for spring accessories (such as straw hats), or/and wear lighter colours. In addition, opting for light colours can help you achieve that spring feeling. Layering is always a good idea, but if you want to wear less layers, another way to feel warmer is to simply opt for warmer materials such as cord, wool or velvet. A blazer made from thick material can be just as warm as a long coat made from a light material. You can have a look at some of my early spring outfits here , here ,  here,  and here . Moreover, reaching for quality vintage denim can be a good idea. Both of my styling proposals for today will feature a pair of vintage Levis 501 jeans.  501 LEVI'S JEANS WORN WITH A COAT AND STRAW ACCESSOR...

AN OLIVE GREEN BLAZER WORN WITH BLACK CORD FLARES (SPRING STYLING)

Image
How to style an olive green blazer? My outfit proposal of the day would suggest a dark palette. I don't typically wear dark tones, especially not for spring but there are some darker tones that appeal to me, for example I can't resist a dark green palette. As it happens, I like to pair it with black. I do like the black aesthetic, but generally speaking I'm more drawn to patterns and colours. Black is a colour too, I can't argue with that.  Even if black is not my favourite colour, it is still a colour I love. For many, black is the colour of mystery, strength and elegance. Like any colour, it has many connotations. So, for today I have a dark outfit proposal. Perfect for those of you who believe that black is the new black. All of the photographs I'm sharing today were taken in beautiful Mostar, the second largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina. One of my favourite things about Mostar are all those lovely historical villas from the time of the old Austrian Hunga...
