FASHION ILLUSTRATION: CAROLINA HERRERA RESORT 2020 COLLECTION
Hello there! Today I have a new fashion illustration to share with you. I couldn't resist illustrating this gorgeous yellow tulle dress from Carolina Herrera resort 2020 collection. It seemed worth the sacrifice of my free time. I mean this yellow dress is stuff dreams are made of! Plus, I liked the editorial background for this collection (Vogue did a full coverage here) so I included that in illustration as well. The medium for this romantic fashion illustration is: oil pastels on paper. I used a mixed media paper from brand Strathmore (not sponsored) and pastels from brand Russian art brand Sonet (not sponsored either). I actually got both the pastels and the paper as a gift. I already used this mixed media paper and pastels to illustrate Natalia Lialina (check out her blog IN THE WRITER'S CLOSET here) as well as a number of designer looks. Pastels are not the first thing that come to one mind when fashion illustration is concerned, but I like the use them because they create a more romantic and artistic feel. I've noticed that I often use pastels to illustrate romantic couture dresses.
This dress isn't the only item from Carolina Herrera Resort Collection that has caught my eye. In fact, the whole collection is amazing. I'm swooning over all the items. I could stare at this Carolina Herrera editorial all day. If I had the time, I would perhaps attempt to illustrate all the dresses, suits, shirts and suits from this collection. Seeing that I don't have that much free time, I made some collages with other looks from this Carolina Herrera Resort 2020 Collection. I've used my own fashion illustrations to go along with the designs. So, these fashion illustrations you can see bellow were created before this collection and aren't directly influenced by it. I choose some of my fashion illustrations that I felt go well with the spirit of this collection. Scroll down and let me see what you think.
One thing I absolutely adore about this Carolina Herrera Resort 2020 Collection are the bold colours. Even all black designs often have a pop of colour. Moreover, the whole collection is both delicate and modern at the same time. True to the traditional style of Carolina Herrera, but updated and relevant. If I had the budget for it, I'd probably invest in one of those pieces. Many of these dresses would make a great choice for NYE, don't you agree?
Back to my fashion illustration. I have uploaded it in my RB shop so you can buy prints of it. The prints come in many shapes and sizes and even stickers are an option. I don't sell original illustrations anymore, but most of my fashion illustrations are available in form of prints on Redbubble site.
Well, that would be all for today. Let me know what you think about this fashion illustration. How do you like my pick? Do you find it inspirational? Do you like pastel art? Do you like the collection that has inspired it? Have you seen it? Would you wear this yellow dress?
As always, thank you for reading and visiting. Have a lovely day!
