Frozen (Another Winter Outfit Post)

I actually didn't plan to share these photographs, as they are just hiking photos and from a spot I've blogged about not too long ago (here) but then I thought why not? Why not share candid photographs of what I wear when it's really really cold? I share hiking outfits all the time, so why not this one? I asked my husband to take some photographs of this spot because this broken glass reminded me of a frozen river.  My husband told me that the broken glass was there because there used to be a glass house on that spot.

It's been showing when I arrived to Split a week ago but it didn't stick for long. It's been showing in Mostar recently as well. Just as suddenly as the snow appeared, it disappeared. If you've been watching the news, you'll know  that it's been cold in this part of Europe. We had a few warmer days, but they say that it will get cold again soon. We'll see. I didn't have time to take any nice photographs of the snow in Mostar, so if you want to see what Mostar looks under snow, I can only refer you to this old post of mine.

I've just returned from Split and this time there was no snow in sights. My visits to Split have been more frequent as of late,  because I have had some medical tests to do but I didn't have any time to take any photographs or to make any travel/outfit posts. Right now it's not that cold. Still, today I'm sharing another winter outfit. I know that in many places, it is still quite cold.

Spring is arriving any day now, but if you are in a mood for a walk, there is no need to wait for it. When it's cold, it's tempting to just lock ourselves into our homes, but fresh air is beneficial for our health. Even if you're not an outdoorsy person, a short walk is something to be considered. I'm not taking about the extreme cold. If a weather forecasts comes with a doctor's warming and the experts are urging us to stay in, then that is what we should do. However, I can't help thinking that sometimes people spend too much time indoors during Winter.

Sometimes I go outside and the streets are empty despite the fact that it isn't even bellow zero. Again, I'm not urging people to go outside when it's minus twenty, nor am I advising you to spend a lot of time outdoors in cold weather, but sometimes people stay in even when it's plus two. As long as we're talking about normal European Winter, I think that being cold is pretty much optional if you learn to dress well. As long as your health is relatively good, there is no need for you to spend all of your time indoors. All I'm saying is that a bit of hiking or walking never hurt anyone. A walk always makes me feel better.

  1. I'm glad you shared these photos! Your playful spirt really comes through :) I thought the cold weather was behind us but we're still getting snow in New York. I don't mind a walk in the cold as long as I'm bundled up. I don't even mind walking in the snow since I love to photograph it.

  3. My husband and I used to walk a lot but these days it's touch because of my work schedule. He finish work at 3 and I start at 5pm so we barely have much time together. :-(

  6. Fresh air is definitely beneficial to your health Ivana. My mom and I just started walking in the park today. It felt so good. It was chilly & breezy, but I felt a difference. It's not good to stay indoors all the time. It's also nice to take pictures in outfits you normally wear. I enjoy this! It's natural. Great post.

Love the backpack too. I agree it is good to get out in the winter so long as the cold is not too extreme.

  10. Looking at photos of you all bundled up makes me feel cold. I've never lived in cold weather like that but you make it look fun and easy. Walking or hiking is always a good idea and definitely has health benefits. You look adorable in your furry capelet and great job on those candid poses. I love your authenticity.
