Fashion illustration of the day (olive flared jeans: green trend report)

I'm back with another original fashion illustration and design (the medium is watercolour on paper). This illustrated outfit is all about layering. Besides olive flare jeans, our blonde is sporting a jacket, a turtleneck and a cardigan over it. A nice faux fur scarf is a great way to add some drama into a winter outfit. In addition, she opted for black high heels, beanie and a little bag to dress up those jeans a little. What do you think about this outfit proposal? Would you wear something like this? Do you like the combination of colours (brown, dark orange, olive green and black)? Do you like pointy heels? I've just got a pair of pointy heels yesterday. You know, I've started to actively search for (and sometimes even attempting making) things I illustrate. I guess that is a proof how creating art can set our creative juices going. It can all be connected you know. Creative work that is. We don't have to put borders everywhere and divide everything all the time. Sometimes we should just let things flow and stop worrying about whether something is considered banal or deep. Perhaps there are no deep or shallow jobs or hobbies, there are only deep or shallow people. Life is what you make of it.

Sometimes I like to add backgrounds to my fashion illustration. Location illustrating is something I want to work on more this year. The background for this illustration is based on Croatian coastline, more precisely municipality Lastovo (google it if you want to see more). Lastovo municipality consists of 46 islands and it is a part of Dubrovnik- Neretva county in Croatia. The largest of these islands is Lastovo. The name of the largest town on Lastovo island is also Lastovo. This is sometimes the case with Croatian islands, the largest settlement being named the same as the island (for example the famous island Hvar). There are more than a thousand islands in Croatia (the number varies according to classifications criteria and whether or not you count small islands but it is a big number), so if islands are your thing, Croatia is a pretty good choice.

  7. While I may not be a fan of the cold weather, I do enjoy layering as it poses a fun and creative fashion challenge to balance style with staying warm . This outfit you illustrated is a nice combination of colors and I'm imagining the textures would be quite fun as well :)

I totally would wear such a look and it makes me smile that I'm wearing today a similar look (I showed it already last year on my blog): Yellow fur scarf, black pants, black ankle boots and grey cardigan :) Have a wonderful start into the weekend!

  15. How fun you're planning on working more on your background illustrations, it must be so exciting constantly developing your skills and expanding on your go-to's! This fashion illustration is lovely, it has serious Chloé vibes about it - especially thanks to that extra long brown scarf! I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead, Ivana :)

  18. LOVE LOVE LOVE the outfit you're proposing for this illustration, is beyond amazing and I have seen a lot of jeans and pants similar to this, the unfortunately thing is that you need to be kinda tall in order to look good of them don't you think? :( Anyway I think nowadays we have a lot of different proposals when it comes to clothes in order to stop wearing the same kind of pants :p

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.

My fashion illustration of the day + book review / Moja modna ilustracija dana + ogled knjige ( Le Diable au corps) 6.12.2016

This morning I read an amazing novel. Le Diable au corps (translated as The Devil In the Flesh) is a novel by Raymond Radiquet. Believe it or not, this was by first book by this French writer. I don't think I even heard of him before, which is odd, but well, it happens. In his time, Raymond was quite a celebrity and he is still considered as one of the important French writers of that period. Did I like this novel? Quite frankly, I loved it. I just couldn't put this novel down. I must have read it an hour or so. I got up a bit more earlier this morning so I actually had time to read it with my morning coffee (it is not a very long novel but still it is amazing how easy it was to find one's self glued to those pages). Perhaps I should make it a habit, getting up more early so I can read more.
Jutros sam pročitala divan roman. Đavo u tijelu  (naslov izvornika Le Diable au corps) je roman Raymonda Radiqueta. Vjerovali ili ne, ovo je moj prvi roman ovoga pisca. Mislim da nika…

Fashion illustrations of the day (markers)

Hello darlings! How are you? Can you believe that February ends today? This month has just flown by. I know it's the shortest month in the year but still. Today I'm going to share 3 fashion illustrations and sketches with you. The medium for all of them is marker on paper. I don't work with markers that often, but sometimes it is good to try something different. The fashion sketches I'm sharing are all about 3 colours: purple, green and red. Spring is in the air, so this is my reflection on all those trends for the new season. The first illustration shows a girl wearing a purple and blue jumpsuit. The second illustration features a girl wearing a transparent green dress with a top and a skirt under that dress. The third illustration shows two girls in red gowns.

February Recap (art & DIY projects & outfits)

I've put a lot of effort into blogging this February, I hope it shows. As far as the content goes, February was similar to January, mostly a mix of my illustrations and outfit posts (here). This month I was full of positing ideas and I managed to make many of them happen. I feel pretty good about that. The only thing I feel bad about is making my blog monolingual and not using my other languages, but translating texts from English to other languages takes such a long time. It is so much easier to just write in English.  Hopefully, I'll manage to change that and make my blog multilingual again. I need to organize my time better. Fingers crossed. For March I already have a few posts prepared. You can expect more art (mostly fashion illustrations) & outfit posts.

DIY PROJECTS
I shared two DIY projects in February, one about making a Barbie dress, the other was about how to paint a plant container. I don't have any DIY projects prepared for March, but I'm sure that I…
