Do you like wearing hats? ( fashion illustration of the day)/ Volite li nositi šešire? (modna ilustracija dana)

Today I'm sharing another fashion illustration with you. The medium is, once again, watercolour on paper. Our lovely lady is wearing a hat and a faux fur coat.  Some people claim that the hat is the most noticeable fashion accessory one can wear. On one level this makes sense. We know that human communication is predominately visual. Moreover, reading facial expressions is something we all do. In other words, when we look at a person the first things what we will pay attention to is the face.  Our faces find a fundamental role in communication. We can look at fashion as a form of communication too. I'm not sure would I call the hat the most noticeable fashion accessory, but I would agree that it is one of the most noticeable. I think that everything we wear in the vicinity of our face is something that will draw the eye. So, I would say that scarves, hair decorations, headbands, earrings and necklaces are just as noticeable as hats. When we talk to one another, we're usually looking one another in the face. Obviously, those items that are near our face are those that will get noticed the most. Having that in mind, hats can indeed be a very useful accessory. What do you think about wearing hats? Do you like wearing hats?

Danas dijelim još jednu modnu ilustraciju s vama, ponovo akvarel.

  1. I would say to some extent I agree with the idea of hats being the most noticeable fashion accessory - especially if the brim falls close to the eyes! Your watercolour illustrations are so dreamy, and I enjoy them the most when they showcase specific details, such as this flamboyant burgundy hat! I hope you're having a lovely week so far Ivana.. :)

  7. Dearest Ivana,
basically I find hats fit me well - look here: https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3oOr4zCN0Qg/VxdXL9hZZGI/AAAAAAAAYqY/tmrjaveOXgQbzqr78Pv4m_fznFOmuvwsQCLcB/s640/capsule207.jpg
Unfortunately it is often here so windy that hats are quite impractical. Beanies and caps are better "sitting" on the head. But on not very windy autumn days I like to wear my hat.
    Your hat-drawing is fabulous!

  11. I guess hats are the one that people noticed easily as it's right in your face but for me I always take note of fine necklaces, earrings and rings. It's the fine and smaller details that I appreciate.

  17. For me it depends on the hat how much attention it gets. Some pale, sandy brown little chapeaux may go unnoticed but a pretty one like the one you have rendered is unavoidable to the eyes. Fashion really does have the power to direct our gazes.

  22. Yes, hats have a way of being right in our line of vision. I personally love wearing hats! They can be a fun accessory but they can also make an outfit look more polished which I really like.

3 AMAZING CITIES TO VISIT IN HERZEGOVINA BESIDES MOSTAR

My last post was about beautiful historical town Mostar, but today I want to show you other amazing cities in the region of Herzegovina. You guys know how much I treasure Mostar and how important it is to me. Mostar is the largest and best known city in Herzegovina, the cultural and administrative centre of this region you might say. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean that other cities don't deserve to be on your tourist radar as well. Honestly, one of the things that amazes me about Herzegovina is the diversity of its cities. Today I'll present three lovely cities to you: Ljubuški, Čapljina and Široki Brijeg. This is by no means a complete list. Another thing worth pointing out is that a lot of places  that get called cities, but in reality there are not that many cities in the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina (only around 20). Popular tourist destinations such as Blagaj and Međugorje are often called cities while in fact they do not have a status of a city.

VISIT OLD CITY CENTRE AND OLD BRIDGE IN MOSTAR WITH ME!

Today I will take you on a virtual walk through Mostar city, more specifically through the old part of the town. Whether you're a history lover or not, the historical part of Mostar city will surely impress you. There is a reason why this place is so popular. It's an utterly beautiful area and it's extremely photogenic. I'm very excited I'll be sharing it with you today. Moreover, I'm going to give you some outfit tips for sightseeing the old bridge and the old city. As some of you know, I'm currently based in Mostar. One the benefits of being Mostar based is that the gorgeous historical centre is always available to me (Click here to see my most recent blog post shot at old bridge in Mostar) and that means I can give you good insider tips too.
These photographs were all taken last Sunday when we decided to go for a walk through the old city after mass. We walked from the Saint Peter and Paul church and monastery to the old bridge, through the old town and…

KATE KASIN LONG SEQUIN DRESS (REVIEW AND STYLING TIPS)

Hi everyone! Who else loves sequined dresses? If you're into the metallic dress trend, you might find this post interesting. As the title indicates, today I'll be reviewing a gold Kate Kasin sequined maxi dress. I'm also going to give you some tips on rocking sequined dresses. Firstly, it is good to remember there is a metallic shade for every skin tone and undertone. The same rules we use for choosing the right jewellery for our skin tone can be applied to sequined and metallic items as well. Generally speaking, silver items are recommended for colder skin undertones and gold items for warmer ones. However, there are exceptions. Not all gold tones are the same. For example, rose gold is said to look particularly beautiful on fair skin ladies. This dress happens to come in different colours and shades (rose gold, gold, black, red, silver, navy blue and turquoise). Being olive skinned and warm toned myself, I opted for a gold version of this dress. What do you think? Does …
