The house my grandmother was born in (Gdinj, island Hvar) / Kuća u kojoj je rođena moja baka (Gdinj, otok Hvar)

My husband wanted to see the house my grandmother was born in, so my grandmother showed it to us. As you can see, the house is a ruin now, but even as a ruin, it has a certain charm to it. After seeing the house, we walked a bit and came back to the house my grandmother lives in now. You can see that house in the last photo. So, this was a nice chance to take and show you more photographs of Gdinj. I was wearing a very comfy outfit. It seems to me that this navy dress matches well with striped startas sneakers. This denim vest I embroideded myself always comes in handy and so does this light plastic bag.

  1. Even though the house in ruin now, it still holds so much history and significance since your grandmother was born there and you can see that it has charm and character. I love that your grandmother joined you in some of these photos. I can see great style runs in your family :)

TWO WAYS TO STYLE A SCARF (SUSTAINABLE FASHION FILES)

Today I'll show you two ways to style a scarf: one is by wrapping it around your headband and the other by using it as a belt for your dress.  I'm also going to link up old posts with more ideas for styling this scarf, offering you about a dozen ideas. The first idea is a common one. Wearing a belt around your dress is an easy way to accentuate your waist. The other outfit proposal shows a fresh styling trick: wearing your scarf wrapped around your headband. Yes, you read that right. This is actually such an easy way to make the most out of your headband(s). I own only one headband but by wrapping different scarves around it, it seems like I have a dozen of them.  As for the two outfits I'm going to show to you, they are both summer ones. The colour palette for these looks is pretty neutral, but I jazzed it up by choosing printed white items. I do like the freshness that the white colour offers, but as a lover of prints I tend to compromise by opting for printed white ite…

SUMMER TO AUTUMN OUTFITS FEATURING A VINTAGE BLACK MAXI DRESS

Today I'll show you seven ways  to wear a black maxi dress. This beautiful vintage dress was gifted to me by a family member. I don't own many solid black maxi dresses (probably because I'm addicted to bold prints and colours). I do own quite a few little black dress (because a LBD is such a classical piece) but not that many black ones in maxi length. In fact, I believe this is the only plain black maxi dress I own. I find it really easy to style. I treat this maxi as a neutral piece and I wear it all year round. I actually added embroidery to it (it's a hobby of mine) but the embroidery detail isn't that big (for now) so I tend to style it as a plain black dress. By that I mean that I like to have fun with accessories when I wear this dress. I often wear it with statement necklaces I made myself or similar eye-catching accessories. Anyhow, I figured that with the summer to autumn transitioning that is going on right now, it would make sense to show you some tran…

FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: ILLUSTRATED TOTE BAGS REDBUBBLE

I don't know what it is about the combination of tote bags and fashion illustrations that I like so much. Maybe it is simply a matter of combining two things that I love. I adore tote bags for their practicality, I like to carry one with me (often tucked in my regular bag) at all times because you never know. We all know that the typical disposable plastic grocery bags are a huge no-no for the environment, so a tote bag is a must (even if just for grocery shopping).  I personally like to wear tote bags even on occasions that have nothing to do with grocery lists, but to each his own. As for fashion illustration, well I don't have to explain that. I have literally loved fashion illustration for as long as I can remember. Joining my creative skills with tote bags seemed logical! Some of you might remember that I even hand painted some vintage tote bags. In fact, you had the chance of seeing one of those tote bags recently here. As much as I enjoy using textile prints, I also li…
