March and April recap (Huawei pics) / ožujak i travanj sažetak (slike s mobitela)

I don't usually take a lot of photos with my smartphone, because the quality is not that great but looking back at photos taken these two last  months, there are some that I'd like to share....

Baš i ne slikavam puno s mobitelom jer nije dobra kvaliteta fotografija, ali gledajući slike uslikane zadnja dva mjeseca, vidim da ima nekih koje bi ipak voljela podijeliti tako da....

  5. I truly enjoy these images especially of those stunning buildings by the sea. I love ancient architecture and buildings. It is amazing how well built they were, lasting hundreds if not thousands of years!

  12. Dear Ivana, wow, all those pictures are taken with your smartphone? I like them as usual all of your pictures and I want to repeat that you really live in a wonderful region! And interessting that you obviously have the same kind of processions as we have here in Bavaria. Especially in May there is a tradition which is called "Bittgang" (I hope "Rogation procession" is the right translation) and which have the purpose to ask for a good harvest. I attended them regularly when I was a child and I have good memories on them. Wish you a good new week!

    1. yes, all of them were taken with my smart phone. It is hard to see the difference in quality when the photographers are not enlarged and I don't know how to do that. Interesting to hear about your tradition. We have the same one and it is called 'blessing of the fields'. When I lived in Sicily, I saw a lot of processions on the streets. It must be a catholic thing.

  34. Great summary of your life in the last couple of months. Love the architectural shots, and water. Beautiful place you live in. The phrase "Glupost! Ne vjerujem u to!" jumped at me from the page of your novel. It sounds almost exactly the same in Russian. :) You look striking in the dark floral outfit, wear it a lot.

Can't wait for your fiction! Yes, just post it on your blog and link to mine when I open the link-up at the end of May (hopefully, I will win over the technology :)))

    1. thank you Natalia, the phrase is actually from a novel by a Portuguese writer but it hasn't been translated to English yet. Croatian and Russian supposedly have 70% similar words, but so is the case with most Slavic languages I think.

February recap / sažetak veljače

You have seen (more or less) what was February like for me. Now tell me... what was February like for you? Are you happy that it's already March or do you feel like time is flying too fast? Are you looking forward to the spring?

As far as blogging goes, it seems that I have became more focused on fashion illustrations. In the next month the illustrations will have their place, but there will be more focus on DIY....or at least I think so, because I'm kind of heading in that direction. Apart from that, I have no plans. I have so many ideas when it comes to what I want to blog about, that I often have hard time deciding what not to include. As always, feel free to write about what you would like to see.

Wearing the First Dress I Ever Made: A Grey Midi Dress

Here it is: the first dress I have ever made entirely by myself. I did make some summer dresses in the past, but I had sown them without a pattern and a sewing machine and at any rate I wouldn't call them very accomplished. I mean, they weren't nearly as polished as this dress and they were not nearly as complex to make. I'm very happy with how this dress turned out. I'm even happier I took this sewing course in the first place because now I can make more dresses like this one! If you remember my November highlights post, you might remember that I've mentioned how I've recently finished a beginning fashion tailoring and sewing course with designer Stanka Zovko.

I promised to show you the dress I made for my course 'graduation'. At the end of this lovely sewing course, you get to choose not only what you're going to make, but also the material and the pattern.  The sewing pattern is typically chosen from one of the sewing magazines this designer has …

How To Style Animal Print? + An Autumnal Fairy Tale at Ethno Village Near Medugorje

With winter at our doorstep, I think it's important to make the most out of the left over autumn days. With that in mind, my husband and I payed another visit to our favourite (still not officially opened!) ethno village in vicinity of Medugorje. I wrote about this eco/ethno village a number of times, so if you want to know more (or just see more photographs) feel free to check out my old posts herehereherehere and here.  Autumn is Herzegovina is always gorgeous, and this year hasn't been an exception. We had some sudden weather changes and drastic changes of temperature, but I would still describe this autumn as a beautiful one. The Sunday this photographs were taken on was rather gorgeous, so I'm certainly glad we went on this little trip. I know I'm repeating myself, but I do cherish moments like this. Every time I step into this little village, I feel as if the time has stopped or rather like I have just travelled in time. It's such a charming place! I h…
