Lately I've been fascinated with maxi dresses. Usually I wear them in Summer, but this Spring I would love to give one a try. I just have to figure out how to style it. Any suggestion?

U zadnje vrijeme sam fascinirana s dugim haljinama. Većinom ih nosim ljeti, ali voljela bi neku nositi i ovog proljeća. Samo još moram smisliti kako to izvesti. Imate li kakav prijedlog?

  3. I'm not very good with maxi dresses, as I'm a petite and if I have to layer jackets, it gets too much. In summer time at the beach I don't mind though ;)

  5. Isti slučaj. Čekam samo malo da otopli i eto me. Uz patike tipa Converse i teksas jaknu, ili uz kožnu jaknu i neke plitke čizmice. Ako je hladnjikavo možeš i helanke ispod ili tanke čarape :)
Crtež je predivan, ta nijansa plave je prelepa! Samo bih gledala u nju :)

  27. Beautiful painting, Ivana. I don't like maxi dresses on myself coz they make me look short plus I usually wear maxi dresses with flats. But then again, I have only 1 maxi dress and that's coz it makes me look good. The rest were all given away. I love seeing ladies who carry off maxi dresses well. Do share with us your outfit post on maxi dresses the next time!

Regarding wearing maxi dresses in spring...depending on the temperatures I'd combine a maxi dress with a cute blazer and a scarf. I'm already looking forward to seeing the result :)

  31. Good illustrations, Ivana. I love maxi dresses too. I normally style them on their own with some simple statement accessories, but if I want to restyle, I either wear a blazer on top or a blouse over it and ofcos with some accessories. It depends where I'm going sometimes. Hope this helps. :))
    Happy Easter!

Love your fashion illustration - it reminds me a bit on the fashion which has been worn in the 20s :) Wish you a wonderful and happy Easter time!

HOW TO STYLE RED CLOTHING ITEMS FOR WINTER?

A few posts ago (yes, bloggers calculate time in post activity), I wrote about red accessories for winter but I also wanted to write about red clothing items you can wear this time of year. In fact, I was planning to write a big post about wearing red in winter but I realized that I need to split it in two because it was too long. Apparently, I have a lot to say about why wearing red in winter is a good idea. So, today I'll basically post the part two of my red in winter fashion musings. Red is a bold, energetic and dramatic colour. If you ask me, wearing red is a great way to invoke good luck in our new year. You can pair red with neutral colours to tone it down or with vibrant ones to make your outfits even more noticeable. Lunar Year festivities are a perfect time to embrace the red clothing items. Moreover, Valentine's Day is not too far off either. If you're looking for some winter red outfit inspiration, you have come to the right place. HOW TO WEAR RED IN WINTER?   My…

READING UPDATE: KAZUO ISHIGURO, THE BURIED GIANT AND MORE

Hello dear readers, how's life treating you? It's time for another reading update on my blog. You guys know that I'm a bookworm and a reading addict, right? Today I have a couple of book reviews to share with you. I'll be reviewing four books (more precisely: two novels and two short story collections). It's a mixed crowd of writers that I'm reviewing, from Nobel winning Kazuo Ishiguro to some other well known authors. So, let's get started. Scroll down to read my opinion of these books.  THE BURIED GIANT, A NOVEL BY KAZUO ISHIGURO 5/5 Having seen a fascinating interview with mr. Ishiguro about this very book, I had high expectations for The Buried Giant. I'm happy to report that my expectations were fulfilled. Once again, Kazuo Ishiguro impressed me his subtle and beautiful writing. This novel is a masterpiece. The Buried Giant is very moving tale of an elderly couple in search for their lost past. Axl and Beatrix share a strong connection, but just lik…

VISITING BASINA BAY ON ISLAND HVAR, CROATIA

Weekends are a great time to get proactive about our health and use our free time to go hiking & trekking. Spending time outdoors is quite beneficial for our health. I have written about this topic a number of times on my blog. Those of you who are regular readers know that I like nothing better than exploring the area I live in on foot. Hiking can be such a healthy and inspirational activity and the best thing is that it doesn't cost a thing. Since I have been living on island Hvar these past few months, I have tried to take every opportunity to explore this magical island. Recently I have discovered bay Basina. It is a small bay, very close to Vrboska  and Jelsa. This was my first visit to this beautiful bay. I discovered it quite by chance. Island Hvar has so many amazing beaches and secluded bays to offer. Despite spending most of my summers here, I still have so much to discover.  Basina bay is a beautiful place, no doubt about it. There are so many beautiful bays on isl…
