I didn't expect a novel by Philip Roth to be so hearth-breaking. There is something more to this novel that just his ferocious drive to get at the bottom of things and his evident talent as a novelist, something I cannot quite put my finger on...something quite vulnerable in the way it is written. I have yet to finish it, but I'm somewhat surprised by how sad it has made me feel. Exactly why, I cannot say...or perhaps I can but I don't care to. At any rate, I won't go into it any further. The photographs were taken last Saturday. As you can see I was distracted by two adorable puppies which resulted in less time dedicated to  photography, but undoubtedly it was a fun distraction. I believe that animals know an animal lover when they see one. It is not a rare occurrence that their instincts are superior to our own.

Nisam očekivala da bi roman Philipa Rotha mogao biti tako srceparajući. Ima nešto više u ovom romanu osim njegovog snažne potrebe da uđe u srž stvari i očitog spisateljskog talenta, nešto što sasvim ne mogu odrediti...nešto jako ranjivo u načinu na koji je napisan. Još ga moram dovršiti, ali sam pomalo iznenađena koliko me rastužio. Točno zašto, ne mogu reći ili možda čak i mogu, ali ne želim. Kakogod, neću dalje zalaziti u to. Fotografije su uslikane prošle subote i kao što možete vidjeti pažnju su mi odvukla dva preslatka psića, što je rezultiralo s manje vremena posvećenog fotografiji, ali bez sumnje bilo je to zabavno ometanje. Mislim da životinje mogu osjetiti tko ih voli, a ponekad su njihovi su instikti bolji od naših.
