    oh, sometimes we really expect too much from the people around us, so when they come short of our expectations we feel ourselves deeply unhappy and betrayed. But the truth is that we have just overreached ourselves. That is so right that a lot of things are just coming from our imagination, and we can't really claim to be objective.
    That painting looks so sad and sorrowful, probably it corresponds to your state of mind. In this case I just hope that things will sort themselves and the skies will clear for you, dear Ivana. God bless you, take care!

TROGIR TOWN SUMMER 2025 (SLAVA RAŠKAJ EXHIBITION)

 Hello dear readers/ fellow bloggers! In this post, I'll share two summer outfits I wore for visiting Trogir town. During one of these two visits, I also attended an art exhibition by Slava Raškaj, considered one of the best Croatian watercolours of the last century. It was such a joy and privilege to see her aquarelles in person. Slava Raškaj is a name practically everyone in Croatia knows, because many schools are named after her. So, growing up, it was a name I kept hearing. However, neither did I  know about this Slava exhibition in Trogir, nor was that the reason for my visit. I happened on it by pure chance during one of my visits.  Lucky me! However, I've always admired Slava Raškaj and wanted to see her works in person. Thank you Trogir town for organizing this (free) exhibition! I have visited Trogir a few times this Summer actually. THE LONG PETAL OF THE SEA, A NOVEL BY ISABEL ALLENDE

Hello readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I shall review The Long Petal of the Sea, a novel by Chilean-American writer Isabel Allende. I bought this second hand copy in Split this Summer, and read it in a heartbeat.  Published in 2019, A Long Petal of the Sea is one of Allende's more recent works.  Allende herself describes it in her Preface as 'a story of displacement and love, of sorrow and hope, of a couple trying to find their place in a world torn apart by violence'. The novel is told by fictional characters but it features real historical figures such as Pablo Neruda whose poetical description of Chile the author borrowed for the title of the novel. Yes, it was Neruda who described Chile as the long petal of the sea. Happy Monday! How do you feel about Mondays? I'm warming up to them. Afterall, it is just another day. It can mean something good, perhaps even something great. Perhaps it is all a matter of perspective.... A fresh start of the week, new possiblities, new chances...but somewhere in back of my mind are all those Garfield images with 'I hate Monday' written all over them.  My love for oversized cats is my great weakness. Maybe I need a cheerful song? Something with violine and cheerful lyrics...maybe this one  from Alexander Rybak? One cat image to replace another? мой котик..котик..котик..котик........ Dress/Haljina: Mak, watch/sat: vintage, rest/ostalo: no name, nije markirano Once again I borrowed this  Mak  dress from my mother. Did I style it well? If you are wondering about the location, the photographs were taken in front of  friars monastery in Trstenik, Split.
