    I'm really impressed from which different things you can get inspiration! And how wonderful that this song helped you through hard times ... but I know and I'm convinced music helps indeed. The dress you have created are in the colour purple - and I learnt that purple is symbolize the own life-task - I like this <3

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.  The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! It was three years ago that I visited Malta for a rather long (two week) long holiday during which I explored the island both with my friends and alone. Mdina has a fascinating history and hence deserves a post of its own.  Mdina is a historical fortified city, once a capital of Malta, that is still confined within its walls. THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO 2024 MOVIE REVIEW

In this post, I'll share with you a review of  The Count of Monte Cristo.  I don't go to theatre/movies often. In fact, years have been known to pass without me seeing a film on the big screen. However, when I saw the poster for the new 2024  The Count of Monte Cristo movie, I knew I simply had to go.  I really wanted to see this film, and I didn't even read the reviews or watch the trailer for it. I wasn't even intimidated by the fact it is a three hours long. Afterall, it's based on a rather long novel, so I didn't expect it to be short.  Now, I usually review books on my blog, not movies. However, perhaps this film review won't come as a surprise to you.
