DIY shoe makeover/ uradi sam preobrazba cipela

Hi lovelies! How is your day? Mine was off to a rather bad start (I woke up with a fever and things were rather downhill from there, I forgot to copy the today's lesson on my USB and I didn't figure it out until I came to the copy shop so I had to run back home to get and I mean literally sprint while people stared at me in bewilderment probably wondering why is this woman running like crazy? Good news is that now I know I can run 3km under 10 minutes. Naturally while I was coming home from school it was raining and I had to drag heavy grocery bags because I have promised to bake a cake for a wedding... ) but I do hope things will improve and that my day won't end in a disaster or something. Onto brighter topics... Today I have prepared a rather simple DIY for you.

What happens when you like a pair of shoes? You wear them a lot obviously! What happens when you wear a pair of shoes often? They get worn out, especially if you walk for miles daily like myself.

I've decided to give these low heeled shoes a new life by decorating them with nail-polish. I've done this kind of thing  before, but with another pair of shoes and I posted about it here.  Anyhow, I think it is pretty good way of giving a new life to an old pair of shoes (and we all know that old pair of shoes are the most comfortable ones.)

I'm not saying that this method will work well with all kinds of shoes. You might want to take some time and  think about what is the effect you want to achieve, what nail-polish ( or even textile paint) you want to use and so on...However, if you were planning to get rid of the shoes in question, than you really can have fun and just experiment. Sometimes it is the best way to go. It is probably the most fun way!

Like always, this DIY was a spur of the moment thing, it took me only a minute or two. My husband managed to surprise me by saying he really likes it, I thought he would think it looks childish. That goes to prove that even after years of being in relationship you cannot always anticipate what the significant other will say or do...and for the better, because that would be quite boring.

DIY

as you can see I've used colorama nail-polish because it contains little dots and I needed them to hide the fractions on leather/ Kao što vidite koristila sam colorama lak za nokte jer ima u sebi malo točkice koje su mi trebale kako bi prikrila napukline na koži

I'm satisfied with how the DIY turned out/ zadovoljna sam kako je uradi sam projekt ispao

In this post I have also included some before photographs of outfits with the shoes in questions...I hope I will have after photos soon enough. I do plan to wear them this spring and summer. Obviously I like these shoes a lot and my favourite thing about them is that their colour is sort of in-between brown and dark olive. Sometimes they look brown to me and the next moment I could swear they're dark green, so weird, right? In addition, I like low heeled shoes because I cannot walk in flats (btw I've noticed some people call low heels flats and I guess they could be called that but usually I make the distinction between the two)

The shoes are from Peko,  in Croatia we have a daughter company to this  famous Slovenian shoes brand founded by Petar Kozina in 1903. Their outlet store is actually in the building where I used to live in Split so that explains why I buy shoes quite often there. Unlike some stores in Croatia, they really have 70% discounts so when you  buy shoes in the outlet part of the store you can buy them for a fraction of their original price (which is sometimes as little as 5 euros while the original price is usually somewhere around 100 euros).

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
