Split in the background (photography post)/ Split u pozadini (fotografija)


The star of today's post is (again) my hometown Split. This time it is in the background...but still it is quite a city even in the background:) I'm thinking about doing a similar post but about Mostar, what do you think?
Danas tko o čemu ja opet o Splitu...pada kiša, a ja pregledavam stare fotografije... pregršt fotografija, a na svima Split u pozadini...Razmišljam da napravim slični post ali o Mostaru, što mislite?

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review.  Hello dear readers and fellow blog! In this post, we shall combine fashion. literature and illustration, meaning I'll share a book review accompanied by my outfits and illustrations. I shall review Miss Harriet,   a short story or a novella by French writer Guy de Maupassant. Some sources say that  Miss Harriet is a novella, and others that it's a short story. The fact that I read it in Maupassant's The Complete short stories edition, makes a case for the later. However, Miss Harriet 's considerably longer than most Maupassant's short stories, so I can understand it being described as a novella. If you haven't heard about it before or haven't stopped by this blog before, Mostar is a historical city in Bosnia and Herzegovina that is quite popular with the tourists. I mean what is not to love about Mostar- it's a stunning city and the weather is wonderful more often than not. In Winter, Mostar is quite sunny. While it's not always very warm in wintertime, it's never extremely cold. I used to post a lot of illustrations posts, but I wouldn't link them up with my other art post nor would I take proper photographs. HOW TO STYLE A DENIM SKIRT FOR EARLY SPRING? OUTFIT PROPOSAL

Today I'm back with another outfit proposal. This time I'm going to show you how you can style a denim skirt for early spring. A denim skirt is a great classic, and it can be a lovely alternative to jeans. I already wrote down a few tips for styling dresses and skirts in early spring , you know for this period when it may not that warm. I recommended styling dresses and skirts with blazers paired with tights and boots. As you can see, I'm keeping to my advice. I paired my denim skirt with tights and biker boots. I also wore a pink turtleneck sweater and white vintage blazer. Lighter colours are a good way to invite spring. To finish the outfit, I opted for some straw accessories, that is, an oversize straw hat and a straw bag. I love to wear straw accessories to make my outfits look more spring time appropriate.
