Short impressions about Pre Fall Givency, Celine and Alexander Wang collection

 What follow is my personal opinion about three Pre fall collection.  I would love to hear your thoughts as well!


Givenchy
First of all I was distracted by the ugliest shoes I have seen in a while. I know that is besides the point really, forgive me but  I had to get it out in the open. The collection has something new and fresh about it. Peraps the usage  of pattens? That is the main thing I like about it. Now, I have to be frank. I'm not crazy about the cuts or the dull colours that even the patterns cannot revive. C plus.

 About this one I feel conflicted. Some pieces (for example  the long coats) are breathtakingly beautiful, while some just don't stand out…I just have to say this: They managed to make some really ugly trousers. However, when you look at it all together, it really is quite a collection. If I had to grade it, B plus would just be about it.

Alexander Wang

I love it!!! Using just three colours (white, black and grey ) he managed to create the collection that impressed me the most.  Just for the record I usually go for the colourful but this colour minimalism seems to bring out the beauty of the design that reminds me of  sculptures. What beauty, what design! I absolutely have fallen head over heels with the collection and I will study it in the privacy of my home since there is the only place I'm likely to see it. Straight A!

WELCOMING SPRING WITH 15 IDEAS TO COMBAT SPRING FATIGUE!

 Welcome Spring! We welcome thy beauty! We also fear thy evil twin- The Spring Fatigue. Like in a telenovela, one rarely comes without the other. Both are inevitable, so let's just welcome the first and try to manage the other until it perishes (in a slow motion) in a fatal car accident. Yellow is such a happy colour for me, one that I associate with sun and all things nice. Spring is a great time to opt for this colour that seems to invoke sunlight. Let there be colour! (outfit post) / Neka bude boja (odjevna kombinacija)

It was over 40 degrees Celsius (that's over 100 Fahrenheit) when these photographs were taken. Seriously! I'm obviously a desert type when I'm able to enjoy being out at midday in a city that is practically an oven. If you did not know Mostar city is surrounded by mountains and hills which pretty much turns it into an urban oven. Yes, this city is a champion of unbelievably high temperatures during the Summer. So, this hat was as much a necessity as a fashion statement. Wearing a hat when temperature is over 100 Fahrenheit is a sound idea, believe me. Speaking of Fahrenheits,  have you read  Fahrenheit 451  by Ray Bradbury? You should, you know, it really is a brilliant dystopian novel. I find it uncanny how much some writers were able to guess the future, down to minute details. 10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.  The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? SPRING IN SPLIT : 3 OUTFITS, ONE WORN FOR AN ART EXHIBITION

Hello! Spring break is officially over for me. Today was my second day back at work and I'm exhausted. The first day was fun, we've all happy to see one another again and all that, but the second day tired me out. The end of the week is far away, too. It takes time to get used to working from 7 to 5 again.  I divided my Spring break between my favourite three places and two countries:  island Hvar & Split (in Croatia) and Mostar (in Bosnia and Herzegovina). I visited an art exhibition and that was fun, too. The art exhibition was by Croatian illustrator Filip Čulić. The exhibition included his illustrations and comic book art. It's open until the end of April, so if you're in Split, check it out (more information here ). I love Split's city library. They always organize fun stuff. If you spent each day on a different Croatian island, it would take you three years to visit them all, as there are more than a 1, 200 islands in Croatia. I visted only one Croatian island this Summer and I'm currently trying to work out in my head how many of them I have visited in my lifetime. Alas, only a handful of them. So many Croatian islands to visit, so little time!   Standing on my grandmother's terrace, I realize the root of my fascination with rocks. Not the precious or expenssive kind but rocks dig from earth so full of them that farming was almost impossible, rocks that build houses and fences, rocks that are testiment to a remarbakle strenght of people who populated and surrowed on islands lacking natural water resources or fertile land, defying thirst,  hunger, pirates and numerous enemy invasions.  I feel at home in both Split and Mostar but when I get off  the ferry and step onto island Hvar, I step into a magical world. Painting of the day (A Lioness) / Slika dana (Lavica)

When I woke up this morning, the first thing I did was walk to the kitchen. Naturally, I was there to make coffee (can’t start a day without it) but while I was at it, I decided to also make a nice cup of warm chocolate. I figured that one can’t have too many warm drinks when the weather is misbehaving. Plus, I wanted something to drink right away, and because preparing coffee my style takes a while (wouldn’t be caught dead drinking instant coffee;)) I opted for warm chocolate first and it was nice but I have to remember to make my own instant coffee again, I’m sure that stuff they sell in shops are full of all kinds of unhealthy stuff. Speaking of health, I have had a cold for a week now, my throat is still sore and my vocal cords are in pitiful state.  I'm not a big fan of my voice right now, but most people seem to like it. In my last post I showed you how flowers can play well with fashion illustrations. Today I'm going to show you how to wear a floral print in a casual way. I'm a big fan of a floral print for a number of reasons. One of them is certainly their eye-catching appeal. However, sometimes I feel like rocking the floral print in a more subtle way. Not every outfit needs to be a fashion statement, right? Sometimes we feel like taking it easy. How to dress florals down? What I like to do is  to wear one floral item with colours that are either more neutral or (and) those that are a nice match with the colour that is present on the floral item in question. When I want to wear florals without drawing too much attention to the look, I stay away from the flashy accessories and keep it simple.
