DIY+ sunday outfit post: find out how to refresh your old jeans !

How's the New Year been treating you? As the title suggests, today I'll be showing you two things.

No.1 DIY

I don't remember when I started working with textil colours, a few years ago I guess. I've always been big on DIY but long story short, this is something pretty easy. All you need is a bit of colour and a brush. If you can't paint to save your life you can always cut the shapes you want or just copy some image on your clothes.   I love to paint so this is something like  a dream come true for me. Combining painting and fashion, I mean what could be better? I made sure I took a lot of photos so you can see all the stages.

                                                             No. 2 The outfit
As you can see, I'm really keen on this two sized too big jeans trend. Some call it boyfriend jeans, but since my significant other is really skinny, I'm not sure that his jeans would fit me. I really like this jeans, that is why I decided to refresh them a bit with the spots. Actually, these jeans used to be black ( I mean literally like 10 years ago) and I have to say - that is some good quality jeans. The brand is  Amadeus jeans (Croatian). I'm not big on jeans to be frank, there is no way I could wear them two days in a row without feeling boring but how would our world look without denim? Hard to imagine it, right? So, my suggestion is: make sure the jeans you have are worth the money you spend on them. If anything should last it is the denim. Moving on...about the outfit...I like layering so this was how I've did it. The jacket is second hand and I love it. ( If you shop at second hand, try classical pieces like this one, because clothes used to be more expensive back in the day but also in the most cases the quality was much better than today) If anyone is wondering, the location is Međugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina...as you can see the past Sunday was uncanny warm for this time of year and what a beautiful day it had been!

Irish pub Međugorje--- Notice the painting behind me, it's a bit rustic ...very well done.

Thank you for taking the time to read this:) xoxo

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.

TWO WAYS TO STYLE A SCARF (SUSTAINABLE FASHION FILES)

Today I'll show you two ways to style a scarf: one is by wrapping it around your headband and the other by using it as a belt for your dress.  I'm also going to link up old posts with more ideas for styling this scarf, offering you about a dozen ideas. The first idea is a common one. Wearing a belt around your dress is an easy way to accentuate your waist. The other outfit proposal shows a fresh styling trick: wearing your scarf wrapped around your headband. Yes, you read that right. This is actually such an easy way to make the most out of your headband(s). I own only one headband but by wrapping different scarves around it, it seems like I have a dozen of them.  As for the two outfits I'm going to show to you, they are both summer ones. The colour palette for these looks is pretty neutral, but I jazzed it up by choosing printed white items. I do like the freshness that the white colour offers, but as a lover of prints I tend to compromise by opting for printed white ite…

SUMMER TO AUTUMN OUTFITS FEATURING A VINTAGE BLACK MAXI DRESS

Today I'll show you seven ways  to wear a black maxi dress. This beautiful vintage dress was gifted to me by a family member. I don't own many solid black maxi dresses (probably because I'm addicted to bold prints and colours). I do own quite a few little black dress (because a LBD is such a classical piece) but not that many black ones in maxi length. In fact, I believe this is the only plain black maxi dress I own. I find it really easy to style. I treat this maxi as a neutral piece and I wear it all year round. I actually added embroidery to it (it's a hobby of mine) but the embroidery detail isn't that big (for now) so I tend to style it as a plain black dress. By that I mean that I like to have fun with accessories when I wear this dress. I often wear it with statement necklaces I made myself or similar eye-catching accessories. Anyhow, I figured that with the summer to autumn transitioning that is going on right now, it would make sense to show you some tran…

SUMMER ISN'T OVER YET IN SPLIT CITY (CROATIA)

Summer isn't over yet. Not in Split city. The temperatures are still high and the sun is shining. Let me take you around and show you what this beautiful Croatian coastal city has to offer. If you're planning on visiting Croatia, right now is the perfect time to get that summer feel. I love exploring Split city on foot ( I already explained why it is a good idea to explore Split on foot in this post).  You know, I was always aware that Split is a  truly unique place, even when it wasn't as popular as it is today. I used to walk everywhere when I lived here! I'm a big believer in getting to know a city on foot. You can never know a town until you explore its every corner on foot. I have more posts about Split scheduled and many more stories to tell. Some places we carry in our hearths, and our proximity to them is of little importance. I'm fortunate to have been able to make the most of my time spent in Split. My visits to Split have been short but sweet. I don'…
