DIY- ili ti ga uradi sam

Kiša pada kao iz kabla, a meni nedostaju sunčani dani. Gledam neke stare fotke i naletim na ovu. Majica koju sam kupila u terra nove davno i doradila tako da sam na nju ušila puno perlica. Ugodan dan vam želim:)
It's raining cats and dogs and I miss the sunny days. Browsing trough some old photos, I stumbled onto this one. I made this t-shirt ages ago, or perhaps better to say re-made it since I bought in in terra nova and sewed some beads on it. Have a nice day :)

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. A FASHION ILLUSTRATION OF MYSELF: ACRYLIC PAINTS (STOBREČ)

Hello dear readers! In this post, I'll share three original fashion illustration of an outfit I wore to visit Stobreč (Croatia). While I was in Split, Croatia, I also paid Stobreč a short visit. Following my visit, I decided to illustrate the black and burgundy outfit I wore. Sometimes I illustrate my own outfits. Why not? That way I can have an actual illustrated version of my closet, not just a digital version on this little place to call my own. And to think I thought that digital closet from Clueless was the coolest thing? This is way cooler! I used acrylic paints on mixed media paper for these illustrations. Some would say that acrylic paints are not suitable for fashion illustration, but I have been breaking that rule ever since I started doing fashion illustrations years ago. Podstrana (Croatia/ Hrvatska)

Today another post from Dalmatia (region in Croatia). I had already posted about Podstrana here . It is a settlement and municipaty located near Split (in fact only 8 km from this city). Podstrana has about 9000 residens. It is very popular with the tourists. Podstrana has been populated since the prehistoric days. The first people to settle there were  Ilyrians,  more specifically, an Ilyrian tribe called Pituntini. If you want to see what the appeal is, feel free to browse photographs. When I was there this Sunday, the rainy clouds fought battle with the sun...and this elemental stuggle created those silver shades that Impressionist painters were so crazy about. THE BRUTALIST BEAUTY OF SPLIT SUNSET

Split is famous for its Unesco protected Old town that is basically a preserved ancient Roman palace, but there is more to Split then just its ancient part. As a lover of history, I often post about the old parts of Split. As a lover of architecture, I sometimes post about the parts of Split built in the seventies and eighties! If you have been following my blog for a while, you might have come across posts showcasing modern neighbourhoods such as Split 3  (with its University  Campus ),   Trstenik (with its signature skyscrapers) and Žnjan  (that is not restricted to the namesake beach but rather a whole neighbourhood).
