 Can reproduction painting help us improve our painting skills? Yes, I think it can. I definitely believe it can be very helpful in improving our skills. When I first started attending art classes and signed up for an art course, I didn't particularly enjoy reproduction painting. Copying someone work seemed like the most tedious thing imaginable for me. The whole point of visual art, I reasoned, was to put one's own ideas and designs to paper/canvas. With reproduction painting there is no surprise element- that's what I thought anyway. Knowing what the painting was supposed to look like seemed terribly limiting and almost claustrophobic to me. Quite frankly, I couldn't understand what is the use of  it, the purpose behind reproducing someone's else work.  Now I understand how and why I was wrong. Today I'm sharing  an outfit post and a pencil drawing. The drawing in question was inspired not only by the outfit I wore, but by the location as well.  When it comes to this drawing, the Old Town and the Old Bridge are drawn in quite a detailed way.  The location was a big part of what I tried to depict, so it's  not a typical fashion illustration.   It took me a long time to finish this one, as there were many details to capture. I included quite a few  photographs of the so called WIP that is 'work in progress' because I know that a lot of people enjoying seeing the process of drawing. As far as the outfit goes, it is a pretty candid representation of what I wear when it gets quite cold. Nothing beats a nice long puffer on those cold days, right? I don't know if you can tell (though the cap and the gloves I'm wearing are a pretty good indication), but it was quite cold when these photographs were taken. I've put a lot of effort into blogging this February, I hope it shows. As far as the content goes, February was similar to January, mostly a mix of my illustrations and outfit posts ( here ). This month I was full of positing ideas and I managed to make many of them happen. I feel pretty good about that. The only thing I feel bad about is making my blog monolingual and not using my other languages, but translating texts from English to other languages takes such a long time. It is so much easier to just write in English.  Hopefully, I'll manage to change that and make my blog multilingual again. I need to organize my time better. Fingers crossed. Hello darlings! How are you? Can you believe that February ends today? This month has just flown by. I know it's the shortest month in the year but still. Today I'm going to share 3 fashion illustrations and sketches with you. The medium for all of them is marker on paper. I don't work with markers that often, but sometimes it is good to try something different. The fashion sketches I'm sharing are all about 3 colours: purple, green and red. Spring is in the air, so this is my reflection on all those trends for the new season. The first illustration shows a girl wearing a purple and blue jumpsuit.
