oil painting (before and after) / ulje na platnu (prije i kasnije)

This oil painting of mine seems to have a life of its own. Is it finally finished? I haven't got a clue.

Ovo moje ulje na platnu ima neki svoj život. Je li konačno dovršena ova slika? Nemam pojma.

  11. Dear Ivana, your art is living! And I think especially this fact is essential. For me your art (which I always like so much and also in this case I like both versions) is a mirror and an expression about what in your life and soul is happening. And therefore I'm not astonished that you can't say if a picture is finished or not as you are in the prime of life <3 Happy 3rd Advent!

  19. I love how creative you are, Ivana. From sewing, painting, you are able to do all the things that I can't. I do wish I can paint but I am never a creative person so good for you to be able to create beautiful pictures.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.

AN AUTUMN OUTFIT AND A BOOK REVIEW (EAST WEST BY SALMAN RUSHDIE)

Hello darlings! It's suddenly gotten a lot colder here, but I still have one warm autumn styling proposal to share with you. I wore this cute neutral outfit while the sun was still shining bright. On that lovely sunny day, I decided to pair my white (authentic) folklore shirt with a striped mini, dark leggings and a dark green vest. I finished this look with my brown boots and a tartan belt. Besides this outfit, I will share another book review on my blog today. East West by Salman Rushdie also happens to falls into category of magic realism. I'm no stranger to Salman Rushdie,  I read Midnight's children a while back and I started but never finished Satanic Verses. This is the first time I read his short stories, though.  I really liked this collection and I can't wait to tell you all about it.

THE STORY OF MY OUTFIT- HOW I WORE IT BEFORE First, a few more words about my comfy but feminine styling. When you're looking for comfort, shoes are a good place to start. I…

KAFKA ON THE SHORE, A NOVEL BY HARUKI MURAKAMI (BOOK REVIEW & OUTFIT PROPOSAL)

Hello, my darlings! I will be sharing two things with you today: a book review and an outfit post. This cozy outfit proposal features two printed items: a printed scarf and a skirt. The bluish scarf was a gift from a friend and I like how it looks with this camel coat (another gifted item). The wool/silk printed skirt is old, a creation from fashion house Edi. You had a change of seeing this unique floral print on the blog here , here and here. Under the camel coat I have worn this white blouse and this red blazer.  I completed the outfit with a red beanie and high brown boots.  It has gotten colder in Croatia even on the shore. Speaking of the shore, Kafka on the Shore is the novel I will be reviewing today.
MURAKAMI, A WRITER THAT REMINDS ME OF A CAT
Murakami is a writer whom most readers either love or dislike. Options are rather divided when it comes to Murakami, some say he is genius, other claim all his novels are alike. Do you know of whom does Murakami reminds me? Of a cat! He…

10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.  The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? Today we'll analyze Malena's style and see what we can learn from her. There is much to learn! Having analyzed looks that Monica wore in iconic Malena film, I…
