ART UPDATE: PORTRAIT A GIRL WITH A RED SCARF

Image
Hello readers and fellow bloggers. How are you doing? Today I'm back with another art update. This time I will share an acrylic painting of a girl with a red scarf. I made this portrait  painting mainly  to practice portrait painting. I used my husband's photograph of myself as a reference but my priority  was not to achieve resemblence but rather to practice depicting skin. All in all, it was a good painting  practice.  I  didn't feel like following the photograph reference exactly so I changed up some things. The green scarf became a red scarf. Not that I don't like the reference, I might base a portrait painting on it some day. This time I was just using it as general inspiration, though.  Scroll down to see some more artistic portrait paintings I did in the past.   I was actually planning on posting this portrait painting as a part of my Friday Fashion Illustration series but I had issues with my connection yesterday so I'm posting ...

SPLIT CITY SUMMER 2021(PART 1): SIMPLE PRINTED OUTFITS

Image
Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! I'm currently in Mostar. However, I still have some outfits and dinning recommendations I haven't shared from my visit to Split city back in July. So, here we go. Today I'll show you two simple summer styling ideas, both featuring the same pair of printed sandals. Moreover, one outfit features a graphic tee and floral skirt combo and the other a geometrical pattern dress. I love wearing patterns all year around  and I certainly don't stop wearing them in summer. I also love to wear bold colours. In other words, both of these outfits are exactly my cup of tea.  Scroll down to see more.  THE STORY OF AN OUTFIT- HOW I WORE IT BEFORE?  A  GRAPHIC TEE WORN WITH A WRAP VINTAGE FLORAL SKIRT This is an outfit I wore on repeat. A graphical print t-shirt I got from my aunt a couple of years ago, a vintage floral skirt and tropical print sandals. Sometimes simplicity is the way to go. You can see how I wore this floral skirt he...

BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION: THE MAGELLANIC CLOUD, A NOVEL BY STANISLAW LEM

Image
Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you doing? Today I have a new reading recommendations to share with you: The Magellanic Cloud by Stanislaw Lem. Its original title (in Polish) is   Obłok Magellana.   The title of the book refers to dwarf galaxies orbiting the Milky way galaxy.  As the title would imply, this book is about space travel and as such it falls into the science fiction genre.  This book was a  five star read for me. I absolutely loved it. I listened to an audio-version of it on repeat. Seeing that I didn't have an actual copy of this novel with me to take photographs with, I did some creative edits and collages with different editions I found online. The first outfit I shared is a recent one (another example of me shopping my closet) while the other outfits you'll see in collages are from my old reading updates.  Stanislaw Lem was a Polish writer of Jewish descent, mostly known for his science fiction writing. His works have been ...

TRAVEL WITH MY ART #18: PLANINICA (BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA)

Image
Hello dear readers! I'm back with another TRAVEL WITH MY ART POST.  This time I'm taking you to Planinica hill in Bosnia and Herzegovina. You might remember this place from my numerous posts about it. Like Goranci , Planinica is only a short drive away from Mostar. If you are lucky, you might even come across semi-wild horses.  I've been meaning to paint Planinica for a long time. You know a friend of mine asked me recently whether I ever paint locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I do, but perhaps not as much as I should. There are definitely a lot of beautiful places in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I illustrated and painted some of them in the past, but now I decided that it is time to feature more of Bosnia and Herzegovina in my TRAVEL WITH MY ART POSTS. After all, this is where I'm currently based at.  This location painting is a bit different because it features an animal- a horse. However, this animal is definitely a part of this place. When I decided to paint Planinic...

VISIT GORANCI (BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA) WITH ME!

Image
Hello dear readers! Today I'm taking you to village Goranci. I visited this lovely village back last July. Located in vicinity of Mostar city, Goranci is a great summer destination, especially if you're looking for an escape from the urban jungle.   I've spend my August solely in Mostar so far. I think you all know the reason for that (more info  here ). I hardly left the house in days, I haven't been feeling well at all. I've managed to do some painting and reading despite my health issues, but I haven't been up to much else. The regular travelling posts on this blog will have to wait. However, I still have some 'travelling content' in the archives, so there will be a 'local travel' post from time to time, even if I don't manage to do any actual travelling.  Anyhow, today  I will show you photographs from our July visit to Goranci. Moreover, I'll share photographs of my previous visits over the years. I do really visit this place a lot....
