HOW TO STYLE A PLEATED SKIRT IN WINTER? MEĐUGORJE, BIH

Hello dear readers! How are you? I'm fine. It's been a while since I did a proper outfit post on this little digital place I call my own. It might have something to do with the fact I've been so preoccupied with art projects lately. Today I'll show you what I wore for a visit to Međugorje, a village in Herzegovina. I'm a big believer in shopping one's closet so that is what I did to put this lovely winter outfit together. As you can see bellow, I wore a magenta coat, a red blazer and a t-shirt with my own art print (similar here), a light beige pleated maxi skirt ( that looks white on the sunbathed photos), a pink bag and a pair of very comfy high leather boots. I felt great wearing this comfy but feminine winter styling.

+ MORE WAYS TO WEAR A MAGENTA COAT I'm getting close to 30 wears with this coat!

+MORE WAYS TO WEAR A BEIGE PLEATED SKIRT  I might get to thirty wears with this one by the end of the next year. It's a great skirt, I've had it for years. I wear it in all seasons.

+MORE WAYS TO WEAR A RED BLAZER   I'm very close to reaching 30 wears with this red blazer and I'm really excited for it. I can't wait to share thirty ways to wear it.

+MORE WAYS TO WEAR A WHITE BERET  I've had this white beret for years, but I didn't always take outfit posts with it, so I think it will take me another year to get to thirty 'documented' wears.

+MORE WANY TO WEAR BROWN BOOTS  I think I already reached thirty wears with this pair of brown boots. I have to check my archives, but I really wear them a lot as they are wonderfully comfy.

+MORE WAYS TO WEAR A GRAPHIC TEE  - It will probably take me another year to get to thirty wears with this t-shirt because I ordered it this summer and this short sleeve tee is not a cold weather piece (unless I layer it like I did in this outfit).

MEĐUGORJE- A GREEN OASIS OF PEACE AND QUIET- Being sustainable with travel is another great idea. You can do it by being a local tourist and exploring the areas you would otherwise visit. The location where these photographs were taken is Medjugorje, a small touristic village in Herzegovina. Most of tourists that come to this village do so for religious reasons as Medjugorje is one of the most visited  Christian pilgrimage sites, but you can also come to enjoy the nature. The village and the area surrounding it is mostly Roman catholic, but it is open to all visitors.  If you're interested to see more, you can also visit my old post shot at this location and find more information there. I'll leave with with some links.  We do visit this place fairly often. Moreover, there are two lovely ethno villages in the are and that's another reason why I visit so frequently.

I've blogged about Međugorje many times. I will include some links below in case you want to have a look.

Perfect for lovers of rural tourism and fine dining. There are some amazing restaurants in this area!

RESTAURANT FILI, MEĐUGORJE

Another reason for our frequent visits is the excellent restaurant Fili in Međugorje. The food there is always great. There were hardly any visitors in  the restaurant (and in the village itself for that matter), so social distancing wasn't a problem. I suppose it is easier to do social distancing when you live in an area that isn't very populated.

That would be all for today. Thank you for reading and visiting! Take care.

    1. Thank you. It is a mosaic of the last queen before Bosnia and Herzegovina feel under Ottoman rule. Very sad story! She died alone in Vatican, her children enslaved by the Turkish.

Hope you both had a great Christmas and Happy Holidays. Do you have any plans for the New Year Celebrations? We are in full lockdown in Scotland, so just us 3 and my 3 cats in the house.

  6. So many beautiful pieces. I love a good maxi skirt for winter. A sweater dress..even better! Cold and snowing at the moment here. I definitely do not want to go out today. The plows can't even keep up. I seldom call in, but today it's an official snow day for me. And I so wish I could find my snowboots.

  8. Your outfit is just perfect for a Winter walk, Ivana. I love a pleated skirt, especially when it's a midi length like yours, and the proof that it is suitable for all seasons is right there in your post. Your magenta coat is a favourite of mine, and reminds me of one I used to have in a similar colour.
Medjugorje looks like a lovely place for a visit. We have a similar place of Christian pilgrimage here in Belgium, called Scherpenheuvel. How lovely that you live in an area that's not very populated, which indeed makes social distancing much easier. I had to go into my office today, and even if we went by car and parked about only 50 meters or so away, I really couldn't believe the crowds out shopping in Antwerp. What a lovely bouquet of flowers, by the way! xxx P.S. I do hope you are not affected by the earthquake?
