NEW ART & PAINTINGS: INSPIRED BY CROATIA

Image
Hi there! I have some new acrylic paintings that I would like to share with you. I will also post some old ones, and that would be that. The paintings I'm sharing will mostly be seascapes inspired by island Hvar and Croatian coastline but there is also one painting inspired by Neretva river. Like many a Dune protagonist (Dune as in Frank Herbert's SF series), I'm a sea child. I do love the sea, and I think it's an endless inspiration. However, I've also learned to appreciate river magic, so it is appropriate there is one river painting here as well. Scroll down to see more.  We'll start with this little painting titled Island Hvar. The medium is acrylic paints on mixed media paper. ( DIMENSIONS: 12 inches X 9 inches( 30.5 cm X 22.9 cm), weight: 90 lb (190 g/m2), the original painting isn't for sale, though. You can buy a similar original painting  here .)    It took me a few hours to finish this painting, I really tried to capture the sea movement in t...

HOW TO STYLE A MAXI SKIRT IN WINTER? COLOUR BLOCKING

Image
HOW TO STYLE A MAXI SKIRT IN WINTER?  Today I'm back with another outfit post. This time I have an outfit proposal that is all about styling a gold maxi skirt. Why should you consider styling a maxi skirt in winter you might ask? Well, firstly, they can be quite warm. Secondly, they add glam to any outfit. Thirdly, with a good maxi you're sure to stand out. The best thing about styling a maxi skirt in winter is that you can adjust it to match your own personal style. If you like dark colours, go for that. If you want it to be more formal, order one in a fancy material (you know the one typically used to make suits) and pair it with a blazer.  If you're into sporty or casual style, order a cotton maxi and style it with sneakers. You know, I'm  starting to think that there really is a way to style a maxi skirt for everyone.   Some would argue that maxi skirts are tricky to style, but I think it's all in our heads. Long skirts and dresses actually have a l...

TWO WAYS TO STYLE VINTAGE LEVI'S 501 JEANS IN WINTER

Image
Baby, it's cold outside. You know what that means- time to style cozy winter outfits. Today I'll talk about styling a vintage classic- 501 Levi's. This particular Levi's jeans is one of most iconic denim pieces of all times. With nineties trending, vintage jeans are in high demand and that especially goes for iconic brands such as Levi's. When styling your vintage Levi's jeans, you have several options to choose for. You can opt to get inspired by vintage trends or opt for more modern ones. You can also mix different periods of fashion history. The last opinion is the most fun one if you ask me. Just remember to have fun. Naturally, you don't have to opt for a vintage pair, you can buy a new pair, but there is something to be said about owning a vintage pair of jeans. I actually don't shop for vintage pieces that often, but I wear a lot of vintage. I take good care of my vintage pieces so they would last longer, and I rescue vintage pieces from people...

Image
Today I have two outfit proposals with you, both of them suitable for everyday wear and both of them featuring an oversize tartan scarf. It is still quite cold, and it seems like winter isn't going anywhere. So, cozy outfits seem to be in order. Oversize scarves are simply perfect for creating cozy outfits. If you remember, I already posted some tips on styling an oversize scarf beige ( here ). Today I'll show you two ways to way an oversize tartan scarf. When it comes to prints, tartan is always a classic.  STATEMENT COAT WORN WITH A STATEMENT SCARF We'll start with a bold combo.  They say red and pink shouldn't be mixed, but I was never one to follow that rule. Anyhow, in this case I mixed a red (and blue) tartan scarf with a dark pink (magenta) coat and I was quite happy with the result.Who says you can't wear a bold scarf with a bold coat? I think these two items are perfect for one another. I wore this coat with jeans and ankle boots. I accessorized ...
