How to wear a summer dress in Autumn? Kako nositi ljetnu haljinu u jesen?


The first thing I really took notice of in Mostar city, back in the day, when I arrived to study here, were these trees. I'm still fascinated by them. If you want to know the story about them, you can read it one of my old blog posts (here.)

I'm quite satisfied with the fact that I managed to style this cherry dress (here) for Autumn. Isn't it great when we manage to transfer a summer clothing item into our wardrobe for other seasons? I often see it as a fun challange. So, my answer to the question 'how to wear a summer dress in Autumn?' would be, 'wear a blazer over it, add a folklore bag and put on biker boots'. That way you will be embracing the folklore trend. In addition, biker boots make everything look cool.

Poprilično sam zadovoljna s činjenicom da sam uspjela stilizirati ovu haljinu na trešnje (ovdje) i ove jeseni. Zar nije odličan osjećaj kada uspijemo prebaciti neki ljetni odjevni komad  u našu garderobu za druga godišnja doba? Meni je to često zabavan izazov. Moj odgovor na pitanje, "kako nositi ljetnu haljinu u jesen" , bio bi : "nosite sako preko, dodajte folklornu torbu i obujte motorističke čizme. Na taj način ćete prihvatiti folklorni trend, a uz bajkerske čizme sve bolje izgleda.

    Really great look! I love it. Adding a blazer is a great way to wear summer dresses in autumn. I like to wear a jacket or cardigan and a scarf with summer dresses in the fall so it's nice and cosy. :D

    Znaš koliko mi se dopada ta haljinica, a činjenica da može da se nosi i jesen jerdodatni plus. Još si uklopila ražličite stilove u jednoj kombinaciji a to nije uvek lako. Baš je pun pogodak i ovakva topla jesen je zapravo idealna za slojevito i maštovito oblačenje :) Lokacija je takođe divna <3

    Lijepo odijelo! Haljina je vrlo lijep i torba također. Što je ruka posao? Kad sam bila dijete, moj otac kupio sličan torbu za mene na odmoru u Hrvatsku, koji je tkani. Imate također tkani svoj torba?

      hvala. Ručni rad znači kada se nešto radi ručno, a ne tvornički...ne mora nužno značiti da se radilo isključivo rukom već da je osoba, a ne stroj napravila glavninu posla. Ova torba je tkana, napravila ju je i meni poklonila moja pokojna baka. Ovakav tip folklorne torbe jako je čest u hrvatskim nošnjama. Morala bih provjeriti koje sve nošnje imaju ovaj tip torbe, ali puno ljudi iz različitih dijelova Hrvatske i BIH mi je reklo da je baš takva torba dio njihove nošnje.

    I like layering my dresses and trying to wear them year-round as much as possible. I guess it's easy to do here as it doesn't snow or anything, it's quite warm in Queensland. Even if it feels cold to me!

THE ISLAND OF THE MISSING TREES BY ELIF SHAFAK (BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION)

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. 10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.  The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). WIWT: RED FLORAL BLOUSE, OZZ PANTS AND STARTAS SNEAKERS

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers. Today we'll do a simple outfit post. What I wore today? Well, I wore three outfits actually (you'll see the other two soon enough).  This is what I was wearing this morning while we were driving through Neretva canon on our way back to Mostar. A travelling outfit, if you will. Once again, I shopped my closet for this outfit. I mixed and matched two sets to create this outfit. The red floral blouse is from a vintage floral set (worn here ), the tea green pants are from Ozz brand set (previously worn as a part of a set here  here ) and the striped sneakers are from iconic Croatian brand Startas (worn previously here ).  It was a very comfortable outfit, perfect for travelling! Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! Thank you for your lovely comments on my last  Goranci outfit & travel post .  Spring is here, but I'm back with another cold weather outfit, beanie and all. The arrival of Spring rarely means that it's time to ditch the coats altogether. Transitional fashion often entails layers and coats. I live in the Mediterranean region and if we're still wearing coats, I imagine you are as well. No need to forget about layering just because Spring is here. I'll also take this opportunity to reflect on my Winter as well. With years I learned to love Winter, and I'm almost sad to let this season go. Almost.
