Red vintage dress (outfit post) / Crvena vintage haljina (odjevna objava)

I don't think there is any doubt as to the star of the outfit presented today. It is this vintage red dress that used to be belong to my aunt. Any clothing item that makes you want to twirl is a good one in my book. When I wore it (last weekend), the weather was quite dreadful...very cold, foggy and rainy, but this dress made me forget about all that. I had to wear a jacket over it because it was so cold but I think it looks alright worn this way...What do you think? Do you wear vintage clothes?

    1. it is a scarf made especially for me by my friend's mum...but I messed it up a little by washing it the wrong way. I wish I could undo that. The collar of the dress has interesting details as well...I will show it some day but that particular day it was really too cold so scarf was a necessity as much as an accessory.

CROATIAN DESTINATIONS: MAKARSKA CITY, THE MAIN CITY SQUARE

Hello my dear readers! Today I'm back with another post from Makarska city, a very popular coastal touristic destination in Croatia. If you remember, I went to Makarska on the first of March to visit a family member. I went back again last Friday (exactly a week ago) and the weather was dreamy. We had a great time, we sure did.  In this first photograph, you can see me standing in front of Franciscan monastery and church of Blessed Virgin. I will write a more about this monastery some other time, and today I'll show you a bit more of Makarska city itself and show some of its many attractions (like the main city square and the church of Saint Mark the Evangelist). If you haven't seen it yet, feel free to check out my recent post about Makarska. You can also check out this old Makarska travel post (dating to March, 2016). As you can see, I've been to Makarska a few times. Not nearly enough, if you ask me. It is a beautiful city and I think I even prefer it in spring sea…

JANUARY AND FEBRUARY HIGHLIGHTS

January and February have both been quite eventful months for me. A mix of good and the bad you might say, but all in all I can't complain. After ten long years I'm finally in remission, so that's amazing news. Fingers crossed things stay that way. I can't tell you how relived and happy I am to be in remission. I lost all hope of it (to tell you the truth) but then when I didn't even think about it, it happened. That's life, isn't it? You never know what the tomorrow might bring. Both good and the bad. I suppose that's the fun in living- not knowing. I know  it might seem a bit late, sharing January and February highlights as late as mid March, but I finally found some time to put this post together, so let's do it. Scroll down to see some of my January and February highlights.

TRIPS & GETAWAYS

Most of the trips I took this January were to areas located in vicinity of Mostar city (where I'm still based) but in February I visited Croatia. I&…

EARLY AVIATION FASHION ICON: A BIOGRAPHY OF AMELIA EARHART

AMELIA WAS THE FIRST CELEBRITY WHO LAUNCHED A FASHION LINE
What is the link between Amelia Earhart and fashion? Well, for one Amelia was known as one of the best dressed ladies of her time. Amelia sewed her own dresses, and while it was pretty common for women to sew their dresses back then, Amelia's dresses got her a lot of compliments. Moreover, Earhart took it a step further by designing a fashion line inspired by aviation. Amelia Earhart was the first celebrity to launch a fashion line in her name. She also designed it herself, sketched the designs with a seamstress working alongside her. Unlike many modern day celebrities who just put their name on whatever, Amelia really put some thought into her designs.
Did you know that Amelia was a fashion designer? Did you know she was quite fashionable and praised by many for her feminine charm and elegance? Today we think of her as a tomboy but I think there were many sides to her and that is what made her so wonderful. Do you like avi…
