Izložba slika Salka M. Peze / A painting exhibition : Salko M. Pezo

I have no intention of pretending to be an art critic but I do visit exhibitions when I have a chance. After visiting this exhibition I decided to google this painter and read a little bit about him. One of the art critic said that this exhibition (and the paintings you have the opportunity to see) is of confessional character and doesn't try to communicate with the viewer, whatever that meant. I'm not sure I have understood what this art critic was trying to say. However, what I really liked is what the painter has said himself and I quote him : " If the painting doesn't have the research element in itself, it is in danger of stagnating. The creative force must come in the open, and in some kind of desire, but also in the explosion of colours and characters, a new exhibition has been born..."

Well, that was nicely said, wouldn't you agree? As for my personal impressions, I liked these paintings so much that I had to take photos of them. Sometimes carrying a cam with you can prove to be most convenient (usually when you least expect).

    1. the 2nd from bottom? I think that the title of that has to do with childhood memories...It certainly looks a bit like a memory with that subtle blurriness of the lines.

  7. To tell the truth, those art works scares me. I don't know why and can't explain this feeling. I like only those paitings with flowers, they are full of color and inspiration! Thank you for such a wonderful post, dear Ivana! I'm a huge fan of art and this topic appeals to my heart a lot!

    1. I think they are meant to express the darker side of our psyche so I understand why they can be scary. Some of them, like those dancers for example, are even grotesque. If you look carefully at the painting with the dancers you can see the Moulin Rouge in the background so I think it is questioning whether the dancers there are exploited.

The painting with the flowers is the one I would like to have in my living room, but it was really interesting to see the others as well, because it made me ask questions and that is always a good sign when you look at a work of art.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.

STYLING A YELLOW JUMPSUIT FOR SUMMER ( BAY TORAC, ISLAND HVAR)

How to style a yellow floral jumpsuit for summer? You know when I packed for island Hvar (Croatia), this yellow jumpsuit was one of the first things I packed. I don't wear jumpsuits and playsuits that often during the colder months but I opt for them often enough when it gets warmer. One great thing about a floral jumpsuit is that it is a statement piece on its own. That means that styling it is quite easy. Another advantage of this kind of garment is that you can easily dressed up or down. I wore this yellow jumpsuit to beach, so I dressed it down with a beach bag and white sandals. If I were to dress it up, I would probably pair it with heels (as I did here and here).
Jumpsuits are simply ideal for vacation wear. They are so easy to thrown on. I like to wear them over swimsuits for that beach chic look. I got this jumpsuit in a collaboration last year, and I'm still not bored of it. I definitely plan to wear it a lot for my island Hvar trip. Yellow is such a great colour f…

WHAT IS AN IDEAL MAXI DRESS FOR A SUMMER VACATION?

Hello, lovely readers! Summer is finally here. Are you as excited about summer as I am? Today I'm back with another summer styling, and this time it's about a white floral maxi dress. I love white items for the summer, and if they come with a floral print even better. If you read my last post, you know that I decided to welcome the summer in bay Torac (on island Hvar, Croatia). I told you that one of the first things I packed was a yellow jumpsuit as it is a good vacay item and so easy to throw on when you're at the beach. Another essential vacation classic is a maxi dress. This white maxi dress with a cute floral print proved to be the perfect vacation item because it is so easy to dress up and down (for example, here you can see how I styled this maxi with kitten heels). I actually got this white maxi dress as a part of a collaboration review post last year. Today you can see me wearing it in a more dressed down summer version, with tropical print sandals (same here) an…

10 WAYS TO WEAR A RED BLAZER FOR SPRING AND SUMMER

As much as I love a classical white or black blazer, there is something to be said about rocking a coloured blazer. In summer, it is somehow easier to wear colour. Great thing about blazers is that you can wear them all year around. A nice crayon blazer can be  a great way to accentuate your summer tan. Blazers were my 'go to' look this spring, and I'll probably wear them a lot this summer as well. Today I'll show you ten ways to wear a crayon red blazer for late spring and early summer. Where I'm from, the summer has already arrived, and I don't have that much need for layering, but I still like to have a blazer at hand for whose windy summer nights. If it is still fresh where you live, a blazer can be the perfect clothing item to transition into summer with.
