TRAVEL WITH MY ART #8, SUCURAJ, ISLAND HVAR ( CROATIA)

Image
Time for another edition of  Travel with My Art.   The reason why I decided to start this feature on my blog was to give people an opportunity to travel with my art. Sure, we can travel digitally with photographs and videos, but there is something special about seeing a painting of a place and knowing that it was painted or illustrated. Every art medium brings something special to the game and gives us another opportunity to try to capture what we feel with our soul. As much as I appreciate, love and respect photography as an art form, I think that I will always be more a painter than a photographer. I shared a lot of my photograph (as well as those of my husband) on this blog, but I also share a lot of my art.   I illustrated different places and locations in the past, but something about this pandemic and the inability (of most people) to travel made me realize that perhaps I should dig into it a bit more. So far, I have illustrated mostly places and locations that...

OUTFITS 4 BEING A TOURIST IN MOSTAR

Image
Hello there!  You know I live for that 'be a tourist in your own city' concept.  I was an advocate of local travel long before the pandemic changed the way people travel (see this post from 2015  to see what I mean). Today I'll  show you some pretty areas in Mostar city. In fact, you could say that we'll stroll around the city together. Sure, I blogged about these places before, but one more time won't hurt because Mostar truly  is a stunning city. If nothing else, river Neretva is enough to take one's breath away. Since I'm currently based in this town, it makes sense to to explore it. Moreover, I'll share four outfits I wore for exploring  Mostar city.  April has proven to be surprisingly cold, so I switched my blazers for winter coats, ski (!!!) and leather jackets.  The last one could be my favourite outfit of this month so far. What is your favourite styling? OUTFIT #1- SKI PROJECT JACKET PAIRED WITH HIGH BOOTS , A TARTAN JAC...

FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: SPRING IN MY SKETCHBOOKS

Image
Hello dear readers! Today it's time for another post in my FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY series (read the last one here ). Today you'll have an opportunity to see a couple of my new fashion illustrations. One of them was drawn with reference and the other illustrations are from my imagination. The medium for all them is watercolour pencils on (sketchbook) paper. The sketchbook paper I was using is not really meant for watercolours but I think I got away with it.   Let's get started, shall we?  FROM MY MINI SKETCHBOOK: A GREEN DRESS ILLUSTRATION AND A PORTRAIT First I'm going to show you two illustrations from my smallest sketchbook. Bellow you can see both of them: 1) an illustration of a green dress paired with a pink bag and heels and 2) a portrait of a girl in a green top. So, both of them are about green spring vibes really. If I recall well, I sketched both of them yesterday. They are quite small and not very detailed so I didn't spend much time on them. Sometim...
