The most beautiful bus stop in the world?...Najljepša autobusna stranica na svijetu?

Image
Meaning only exists within a context. Words taken out of context lose their meaning, don't they? Is waiting for the bus something that fills you with anxiety? Well, most people would tend to agree that a bus stop as such can be a great source of irritation depending on how much time you spend on it. Imagine for a moment that you’re waiting a bus. You have been waiting for it for an half an hour. You’re getting angry. You are feeling frustrated. Perhaps you’re even swearing (not out loud I hope). Now, imagine you have been suddenly transported onto this bus stop. Yes, the one you see in this first photo. This amazingly beautiful bus stop that is located in city Starigrad’s port on Island Hvar, Croatia. How do you feel now? Do you feel better?  Ok, let’s also assume you know a way to get teleported here or something so you’re not terribly shocked at the change of destination but very relieved by it. You’re on another bus stop but now you don’t care will the bus be late or not, you...

Oriana Fallaci (Illustrations of the day/ Ilustracije dana)

Image
Pencil sketch filled in with watercolours. I actually did a whole series of Oriana Fallaci's illustrations a while back, but I feel like I'm just getting started. Sometimes illustrations and sketches are just the first step leading to a more complex painting...and sometimes they're independent and exist as such. I usually don't know where will something will take me. I'm learning how to take my time with art. I'm trying not to rush the process of creating paintings. It takes a great deal of self-discipline to set time daily for something that will (realistically speaking) never bring you any financial or other gain, and it will be frustrating, tiring and draining. I don't think I have ever been fully satisfied with a painting I did. On the other hand, that is why I did so many of them. That is why I have hundreds (if not more) of sketches, illustrations and paintings in my home. That's life. You're got to keep trying even when you know you'r...

an ethno village to be ..../ Etno selo koje će biti.... ( Sights to See, Places to Visit / Znamenitosti za vidjeti, Mjesta za posjetiti- Međugorje)

Image
Does it make sense to make a post about an ethno village that still isn't open for business? By that I mean that it is still under construction. Moreover, I'm not even sure when you will actually be able to rent a room here. I'll let you know when I find out. That all being said, I love visiting this place. Perhaps because I'm a curious cat and I like to see what is new. Maybe because it is uncanny how much this village reminds me of all those little villages I love so much. I'm absolutely fascinated by just how well they managed to recreate everything. If I didn't know, I wouldn't have a problem believing that this is actually some really old village. So, if you find yourself at Međugorje any time soon (and since Međugorje is visited by millions of tourists every year who knows you might be one of them), take a half an hour and pay it a visit. It will not cost you anything and you can alway revisit it and stay there next time (hopefully, they will hav...
