  I don't think anyone would call me a painter. I don't even consider myself to be one. However, I do paint and today I will talk about why I do it. I don't benefit from it financially, quite on the contrary it is a hobby that is costing me both money, time, effort and energy.  If time is money, I lost a lot of money painting. After all, I never sold a painting in my life. However, I  do produce painting in large quantities. I did gave away dozens of them to friends and some I even donated to charity. Recently I made a decision to invest  more energy into painting, even if brings me nowhere. I'm writing about it because people are often afraid to do what they want and sometimes we're the only ones holding ourselves back. I have worked hard in many areas of my life and for years it has been one failure after another, so why should I be worried about spending time on something that I genuinely love? ....even if I don't always enjoy it (because painting can be ...

Time for another Inspired by feature on my blog.  For those of you that are not familiar with this feature and what it is about, I can say that it is usually composed out of my fashion illustration (or illustrations) and links to the blog (or blogs) that inspired them. You can see my last Inspired by feature here. So, basically I draw or paint a fashion illustration inspired by an actual blogger and outfit and post it here. Today I painted an illustration of Len from Fetish Tokyo blog . I'm fascinated by her style that is at the same time modern and timeless. However, this is pretty much what I'm wearing these days. My hair is slightly shorter and that's the only difference in my appearance. I haven't started wearing hats yet, but I'm considering it and  I'm doing my best to dress accordingly to the weather. The weather is very hot and it is safe to say that the Summer has arrived here. The river you can see on the photographs is Neretva. It may look like I'm in some exotic place but actually this is Mostar city, a rather green place, especially in the areas near its rivers (yes, there is more than one river in this city...there are five of them actually, but Neretva just happens to be the most spectacular one) where you can see lots of ducks and birds. I never underestimate sketches and doodlers. Sometimes they have a life of their own. They capture what I'm feeling at that moment. Sometimes they turn into paintings. Most often, they're tiny oasis of peace, composed of seconds but powerful enough to stop the time for on heartbeat and remind me ...Remind me of how hungry my hands are...burning to create, to wonder across that piece of paper free and inhabited.  Nikad ne podcjenjujem skice i škrabotine. Ponekad one imaju vlastiti život. Hvataju ono što osjećam toga trenutka. Ponekad se pretvore u slike. Najčešće su pak, male oaze mira, sačinjene od sekunda, ali dovoljno snažne da zaustave vrijeme na trenutak i podsjete me koliko su  zapravo  moje ruke gladne stvaranja, žudne slobodnog lutanja po tom komadu papira.

This May I decided to challenge myself to make one DIY every day. In addition, I challenged myself to paint and draw every single day. So far, so good. Well, if we ignore the fact that I'm exhausted. That put aside, I've been occupied with many projects with a varying degree of success. I'm not sure if all the DIYs will make it to my blog, but at least some of them will. As a matter of fact, some of these DIY projects were already featured.  Today I will show you how to give your old bag a make over. This bag is faux leather and it became worn out. I've decided to make it fun by applying fabric paints to it. When it comes to faux leather,  to decorate it (i.e paint on it) you can also use nail polish and acrylic paint. However, if the bag you want to refresh is a leather one, I would recommend using leather paints. This DIY will take you about ten minutes, give or take a few....it might depend on the drying time of the fabric paint you used. Ovog svibnja odluči...

Today I visited Ljubuški, a little city located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, only a short distance from the boarder with Croatia. I was there to dine with my photographer (i.e. my husband) at restaurant Most  , which I can honestly recommend to anyone.  Another thing I can recommend (once you come out of the restaurant) is crossing the street and going for a stroll on this lovely path right next to river. Pedestrian or cyclist, you're going to enjoy talking a stroll with a view of Trebizan river.  outfit details I wore a vintage shirt ( inherited from my aunt) and a skirt from Bellissima . I just adore this little leaher bag,  a gift from a friend, bought at second hand shop (if I remember well). DIY of the day So, I decided to paint a design on my favourite sand trousers. It was very time consuming because I wanted to create a design that would be detailed, intricate and resemble embroidery. I also wanted it to be completely unique. I struggled with it, but when the morning light shone on my design, I thought to my self--- This was so worth it.
