I do understand what Rena said about Christmas coming too soon. It was only today that I have finished my advent wealth and the first candle lighting was due last Sunday. Christmas will be here in no time! Anyhow, I have decided to use the last year advent wealth. I've just bought new candles (white) and added some new decorations in it ( plus silver spray and little touches like that). Stvarno razumijem što je Rena rekla o prebrzom dolasku Božića. Tek sam danas završila svoj advenski vijenac, a paljenje svijeća (to jest prve svijeće) je bilo prošlu nedjelju. Božić će ovdje biti za čas! Kakogod, odlučila sam iskoristiti prošlogodišnji vijenac. Samo sam kupila nove svijeće (bijele) i stavila ih na postolja, pa malo posprejala sa srebrnim sprejem i dodala neke decoracije.   After decorating process was over, the advent wealth still looked a little dull to me, so I have decided to draw little Christmas three on the candles. My sister in law made this advent wreath. Her dad made made the foundation (or base however you want to call it) for it (by attaching two pieces of  wood), the rest she had made herself. She had used two vine glasses as candle holders. I think it looks amazing, very modern and original. I like the fact that she used pink candles (and decorated them herself) instead of the usual red ones. With a little spray and imagination (most of the DIY things she already had at home) it is really fascinating what you can do. Ovaj adventski vijenac je napravila moja nevjesta. Postolje je od drva i njega je učvrstio njen otac, ostalo je sve sama napravila. Dvije čaše za vino poslužile su kao svijećnjaci. Mislim da odlično izgleda, jako moderno i orginalno. Sviđa mi se što je upotrijebila roze svijeće (i sama ih ukrasila) umjesto uobičajenih crvenih. Sa malo spreja i mašte (većinu ovih ukrasa imali smo kod kuće) stvarno je zanimljivo što se može napraviti.

Konačno sam bila u Splitu, dan je bio savršen, sunčan i topao...a ja nemam uz sebe fotoaparat. Okrutni, okrutni živote! Morao je poslužiti prastari moj, koji valjda ima manje piksela od moga mobitela (ali ja ne znam prebacivati slike sa mobitela)...čudi me da više i radi. Some of the pics I have taken yesterday, and like today it was a very sunny and warm day in Split.  You could hardly guess it is this time of year, the winter being almost here. It's surreal feeling walking by the sea, some people are in speedos (the brave ones or the athletic ones) and some in long coats (like myself). I didn't have my best cam with me, but the day was so lovely I had to take photos.

There is a whole story behind this DIY. I've originally bought this anklet (they are also called ankle bracelets or ankle chains) when my nephew was about one year old for the purpose of being able to cook and watch over him at the same time (You know how little kids are). The anklet served its purpose and by the sound little bells made I knew where he was at any moment.  Perhaps I should have been born in India because I've always loved jewelry with bells or really any jewelry that has a sound to it as well, for example that sound that bracelets sometimes make (if you wear enough of them that is). Anklets in general always remind me on that episode with baby Krishna where is probably where I got the idea in the first place. ( Naturally I'm a complete geek and I have probably read most of the religious texts there are. ) Anyhow, anklet having fulfilled his purpose I've decided to turn it into a necklace with a bit of beads and wire.
