HOW TO STYLE VINTAGE JEANS FOR EARLY AUTUMN?
I don't wear jeans that often, but when I do, I make sure I wear a pair that makes me feel like a rock star. I'm of an opinion that relying too much on jeans can make our style a bit predictive and dull. That being said, jeans are definitely classic for a reason and I love wearing them (just not on every day basis). This outfit is pretty simple, but that's the beauty of jeans. Sometimes all you need is the right pair of jeans and you're ready to take on the world...and what is better than a pair of vintage jeans? There is definitely a soft spot in my heart for vintage pieces. Take a look here to see some of my favourite pairs of vintage jeans. In fact, when I choose jeans I often choose a vintage pair.
THE STORY OF AN OUTFIT
THE NECKLACE
I actually made this choker necklace myself. Fun fact: it glows in the dark. I made it many years ago when I was really into making necklaces. These days I only make them occasionally, but I haven't given up necklace making completely and I hope I never will.
THE BODYSUIT
This black bodysuit is such a staple in my wardrobe. I don't remember where I bought it or how old it is, but I'm sure it is at least a few years old.
THE JEANS
I've always loved clothing items that have an interesting story to tell. Take these jeans for example. I got them from my sister in law who in turn got them from a relative of hers that bought them something like thirty years ago. I have a few more pairs of jeans from the same source. Obviously me and the lady that used to own them have exactly the same figure for these jeans fit me like a glove. I sometimes struggle with finding a good fit because I have a small torso. Not that I mind being all legs (to be completely honest) but yes sometimes it can be tricky to find a good fit when it comes to pants. You can see how I styled these jeans previously here and here.
THE MULES
I got this pair from my husband. I love the design but hate how they feel on my feet. The heel is fine but the material the front part is made of (i.e. plastic) makes them uncomfortable, especially when it gets hot outside. I'm trying to work around that by pairing them with socks. They are actually quite comfortable as long as I don't wear them without socks. I have previously worn them here and here.
THE BAG
THE PRINTED LONG SLEEVE T-SHIRT
Instead of wearing this tee, I just wrapped it around my waist for a bit of nineties vibes.
I wore this particular pair of jeans not too long ago for a stroll around Čapljina city. We also visited a charming cafe and restaurant on our way back to Mostar, but I'll blog more about that place some other time. This outfit was a great choice for a relaxing weekend getaways. Neretva river always amazes me with its beauty. I enjoy following it around Herzegovina. What about you? Do you agree that this river looks mighty impressive?
As much as I love colour, sometimes a neutral styling feels just right. How do you like this styling? Do you like vintage items? Do you own a vintage pair of jeans? How do you style your jeans? Do you like wearing jeans on every day basis? Do tell!
As always, thank you for reading and visiting! xoxo
What a nice Photos 😊 thanks for your sharing 😊

DeleteI know you just saw me wearing jeans on the weekend, but it was my first time since December wearing them! I have two pairs of traditional denim jeans: one pair are boot-cut and have fringed hems, and the other pair are skinny dark-washed crops. I would always prefer to wear "real" clothes over jeans - they are mostly for wearing around the house (not on the blog).
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Ivana! One of my coworkers just got back from your region - he had been to Split! I said, 'Hey, I know someone there!' - what a small world.
I was just thinking how that was the first time I saw you wearing jeans. I like to wear dresses over jeans too. I hope your coworker enjoyed Split. :)
DeleteYour entire outfit is the epitome of Fall fashion! Love it!
ReplyDeletethank you Pilar.
DeleteI love the style of these vintage jeans. Most often I wear skinny jeans... they're my most favorite!
ReplyDeleteReally liking the whole look!
much appreciated!

ReplyDeleteI like your pair of jeans so much - I know why you feel wearing them like a rock star hon :-)
best regards
Thank you Carolyna. That's true, jeans can be a great base for any outfit.
DeleteThey are beautiful jeans on you and look great for autumn how you've worn them here! I don't have any pairs of vintage jeans in my wardrobe I don't think..I did a big denim clear our post-baby a few years ago and got rid of most of my pairs from my uni days, haha!
ReplyDeleteHope that your week is off to a good start :)
Away From Blue
Thank you Mica. Yes, my week is off to a pretty good start.
DeleteThanks for this great informative post!
ReplyDeleteThank you Oksana.
DeleteI'm not a jeans girl at all, at least I am no longer, as I used to live in jeans when I was in my thirties and forties. I only started wearing vintage and mostly dresses and skirts towards my late forties. But if I would wear jeans, I'd prefer them to be vintage ones, as I love the feel of slightly worn jeans. The pair you're wearing here, combined with the bodysuit, fits your enviably slim body perfectly. Oh, and I do agree that Neretva river looks amazingly beautiful. xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you. Neretva always amazes me!
DeleteInteresting post dear! (as always)! You look super cute and comfy! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI don't own any jeans - a friend did me an original pair of vintage 1970s bellbottoms last year but I passed them on as I just felt ordinary and life's too short to be normal.
ReplyDeleteYours fit you well!
The Neretva river and the surrounding greenery look wonderful, lush and verdant and very calming, I'd imagine. xxx
Thank you Vix. Yes, it is delightfully calming.

DeleteI love how your jeans have been around for so long and with so many owners!! What a great recycling story Ivana.
ReplyDeleteI've cut off the heels of my socks before to wear with shoes like this. It could work for you too!! In fact, I cut them about halfway in the middle of the sock. Because those shoes are too fabulous not to wear!!

That's a great idea. I was also thinking of sewing socks into them but your idea sounds more practical.

thank you Melody.
DeleteHi dear Ivana, hope you're having a good week so far :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you're totally right, some denim is necessary in every wardrobe, actually a good pair of jeans could be the best investment we can do :) I have pieces with me since I was a teenager.
Congratulations on always giving us tips to make the best of our clothes! You did a very good styling, especially with the contrast with those white boots! Such a good OOTD to go for a coffee or to have a friends date or even to go to a business meeting just adding the right accessories and a blazer.... PERFECT!

DeleteThese are beautiful photos - that river is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love your vintage jeans and how you styled them. The mules are so cute - it's such a shame they're uncomfortable without socks!

I'm of the opinion that plastic isn't a problem, it is how we use it.
DeleteThis is a great casual outfit on you, Ivana! Funnily enough, you've reminded me I've not added any denim to my wardrobe for a very long while - time to change that! Hope you're having a great week so far :)
