I don't wear jeans that often, but when I do, I make sure I wear a pair that makes me feel like a rock star. I'm of an opinion that relying too much on jeans can make our style a bit predictive and dull. That being said, jeans are definitely classic for a reason and I love wearing them (just not on every day basis). This outfit is pretty simple, but that's the beauty of jeans. Sometimes all you need is the right pair of jeans and you're ready to take on the world...and what is better than a pair of vintage jeans? There is definitely a soft spot in my heart for vintage pieces. Take a look here to see some of my favourite pairs of vintage jeans.  In fact, when I choose jeans I often choose a vintage pair.

I actually made this choker necklace myself. Fun fact: it glows in the dark. I made it many years ago when I was really into making necklaces. These days I only make them occasionally, but I haven't given up necklace making completely and I hope I never will.
This black bodysuit is such a staple in my wardrobe. I don't remember where I bought it or how old it is, but I'm sure it is at least a few years old.
I've always loved clothing items that have an interesting story to tell. Take these jeans for example. I got them from my sister in law who in turn got them from a relative of hers that bought them something like thirty years  ago. I have a few more pairs of jeans from the same source. Obviously me and the lady that used to own them have exactly the same figure for these jeans fit me like a glove. I sometimes struggle with finding a good fit because I have a small torso. Not that I mind being all legs (to be completely honest) but yes sometimes it can be tricky to find a good fit when it comes to pants. You can see how I styled these jeans previously here and here.
I got this pair from my husband. I love the design but hate how they feel on my feet. The heel is fine but the material the front part is made of (i.e. plastic) makes them uncomfortable, especially when it gets hot outside. I'm trying to work around that by pairing them with socks. They are actually quite comfortable as long as I don't wear them without socks. I have previously worn them here and here
I got this black bag from my husband. I have previously worn it here, here and here.
Instead of wearing this tee, I just wrapped it around my waist for a bit of nineties vibes.
I wore this particular pair of jeans not too long ago for  a stroll around Čapljina city. We also visited a charming cafe and restaurant on our way back to Mostar, but I'll blog more about that place some other time. This outfit was a great choice for a relaxing weekend getaways. Neretva river always amazes me with its beauty. I enjoy following it around Herzegovina. What about you? Do you agree that this river looks mighty impressive?
As much as I love colour, sometimes a neutral styling feels just right. How do you like this styling? Do you like vintage items? Do you own a vintage pair of jeans? How do you style your jeans? Do you like wearing jeans on every day basis? Do tell!

As always, thank you for reading and visiting! xoxo

  1. What a nice Photos 😊 thanks for your sharing 😊

  2. I know you just saw me wearing jeans on the weekend, but it was my first time since December wearing them! I have two pairs of traditional denim jeans: one pair are boot-cut and have fringed hems, and the other pair are skinny dark-washed crops. I would always prefer to wear "real" clothes over jeans - they are mostly for wearing around the house (not on the blog).

Have a great week, Ivana! One of my coworkers just got back from your region - he had been to Split! I said, 'Hey, I know someone there!' - what a small world.

    1. I was just thinking how that was the first time I saw you wearing jeans. I like to wear dresses over jeans too. I hope your coworker enjoyed Split. :)

  3. Your entire outfit is the epitome of Fall fashion! Love it!

  4. I love the style of these vintage jeans. Most often I wear skinny jeans... they're my most favorite!
    Really liking the whole look!

  5. Bellissimi i tuoi jeans Ivana, anche io adoro quelli vintage! Mi piace molto questo look!

  6. I am big fan of jeans- black and blue . I am wearing them quite often cause they are so comfy and they are perfect base to create awesome outfit :-)
I like your pair of jeans so much - I know why you feel wearing them like a rock star hon :-)

    best regards

    1. Thank you Carolyna. That's true, jeans can be a great base for any outfit.

  7. They are beautiful jeans on you and look great for autumn how you've worn them here! I don't have any pairs of vintage jeans in my wardrobe I don't think..I did a big denim clear our post-baby a few years ago and got rid of most of my pairs from my uni days, haha!

Hope that your week is off to a good start :)

    Away From Blue

    1. Thank you Mica. Yes, my week is off to a pretty good start.

  8. Thanks for this great informative post!

  9. I'm not a jeans girl at all, at least I am no longer, as I used to live in jeans when I was in my thirties and forties. I only started wearing vintage and mostly dresses and skirts towards my late forties. But if I would wear jeans, I'd prefer them to be vintage ones, as I love the feel of slightly worn jeans. The pair you're wearing here, combined with the bodysuit, fits your enviably slim body perfectly. Oh, and I do agree that Neretva river looks amazingly beautiful. xxx

  10. Interesting post dear! (as always)! You look super cute and comfy! xx

  11. I don't own any jeans - a friend did me an original pair of vintage 1970s bellbottoms last year but I passed them on as I just felt ordinary and life's too short to be normal.
    Yours fit you well!
The Neretva river and the surrounding greenery look wonderful, lush and verdant and very calming, I'd imagine. xxx

    1. Thank you Vix. Yes, it is delightfully calming.

  13. I love how your jeans have been around for so long and with so many owners!! What a great recycling story Ivana.
I've cut off the heels of my socks before to wear with shoes like this. It could work for you too!! In fact, I cut them about halfway in the middle of the sock. Because those shoes are too fabulous not to wear!!

    1. That's a great idea. I was also thinking of sewing socks into them but your idea sounds more practical.

  14. You have a beautiful figure! Jeans super! Thanks for the post!

  15. You have a lovely figure and you look amazing in this vintage denim. Your hair style is also lovely.
    New style post:

    Have a great week.

  16. Hi dear Ivana, hope you're having a good week so far :)

And you're totally right, some denim is necessary in every wardrobe, actually a good pair of jeans could be the best investment we can do :) I have pieces with me since I was a teenager.

Congratulations on always giving us tips to make the best of our clothes! You did a very good styling, especially with the contrast with those white boots! Such a good OOTD to go for a coffee or to have a friends date or even to go to a business meeting just adding the right accessories and a blazer.... PERFECT!

  17. These are beautiful photos - that river is so pretty!
I love your vintage jeans and how you styled them. The mules are so cute - it's such a shame they're uncomfortable without socks!

    1. I might work out a way around that little problem.

  18. I liked your jeans ♥
    So pretty!!

  19. A great pair of jeans is a must for any wardrobe. This pair has such a flattering and classic silhouette and your effortless styling plays that up really well.

  20. That's a really useful post about styling vintage jeans, they sure do have pretty washes!

  21. Hi Ivana
you're very lucky to have a sister in law who gives you so nice clothes with a story behind.
Plastic Ivana?? Today in my blog post I'm Greta Thunberg!!! How dare you??? Just kidding!!

    1. I'm of the opinion that plastic isn't a problem, it is how we use it.

  22. This is a great casual outfit on you, Ivana! Funnily enough, you've reminded me I've not added any denim to my wardrobe for a very long while - time to change that! Hope you're having a great week so far :) x

  23. Un look molto semplice ma di grande effetto... ti stanno davvero bene questi jeans!
    Kisses, Paola.

  24. I totally agree with you, I only wear jeans for school run and cleaning, haha. I just find them boring any other time. I think you've styled yours really well, looks fantastic!! x

  25. I think you styled those really well! Love a pair of vintage jeans! I hope you're well and having a lovely October so far!

  26. You look very classic and lovely. The necklace is wonderful, how great that you made it!

  27. I love how you styled the vintage jeans! They look great with the white mules and I love how the tee tied around your waist looks.

Inspired by..... Tijana/ Nadahnuta....Tijanom

Hi everyone! It's time for another Inspired The medium is acrylic on cardboard. This time I illustrated Tijana from fashion abejita. Painting lace is always a challenge and I'm aware that I have a long way to go when it comes to illustrating fabrics, but all things considering, I think I did pretty well. In fact, I'm quite happy with how this painting turned out. This outfit is a summery one, but it is suitable for Spring as well. Besides, green is in this Spring.
Zdravo svima!

This is what…

Are you wondering what fabrics to reach for this Autumn? Corduroy items are perfect for creating cozy autumn outfits. So, I'm assuming most of you (if not all) have at least one pair of dark (cord) jeans.  How to style black corduroy flare jeans for autumn? Today I'll show you an easy autumnal styling. When in doubt go for a black and white styling, for it always look elegant. Here I paired my dark cord jeans with a white shirt and a white blazer. This classic colour combo allowed me to play with accessories a bit. I made things more interesting by adding statement earrings and a scarf in the mix. I also wore high heeled boots for the extra elongating effect. Alright, I'm quite tall, but this combo makes me look even taller. Flare jeans can be so flattering, especially high rise ones.
THERE IS NOTHING NEW ABOUT THIS OUTFIT: SUSTAINABLE FASHION FILES I've finished the Slow Season Fashion Challenge successfully. I didn't purchase anything last summer. Second hand it…

Time for another reading update. Today I'll review three books: a novel, a collection of stories and a play. The novel Wild Life by Molly Gloss was my first work by this author. October Country is a work by author I was already familiar with. In fact some of you might remember that I have a great fondness for Ray Bradbury. His Fahrenheit 451 is one of my favourite dystopian novels of all times.  So, I was happy I was able to pick up a collection of his short stories. Finally, I read a play by Christopher Marlowe. This is another author I was already familiar with (I did study English language and literature). I enjoyed Marlowe's version of Doctor Faustus myth, so I decided to see what his others works are like. So far, I read one and a half play but I plan to finish them all by the end of the month. I was also rereading Shakespeare a lot lately because that is always a good idea. I do upload most of my reading on goodreads so you can check my reading progress there as well.
