Two Spring outfits. Both of them drawn with a pencil. One is depicting a girl wearing an off shoulder midi dress and the other one shows a girl wearing skinny jeans and a blouse with bell sleeves (ruffled bell sleeves to be more precise). What both of them have in common are ruffles. Do you like ruffles? Do you plan to wear this trend? I'm a big fan of the ruffle trend. Perhaps it is because deep inside I'm a hopeless romantic.

Dvije proljetne odjevne kombinacije. Obje nacrtane olovke.

  1. very creative

  2. Prześliczne rysunki! :)

  3. Hi Ivana! I really like both of your illustration and proposition to Spring's outfits - both of them are amazing. Personally, I've romantic soul too, so I'll wear as much ruffles as much I can this spring, I'm happy that they're trendy right now and I can see them everywhere. What about first outfit, the dress is terrific - in my opinion it's in haute coulture's style annd I'm pretty sure that it will look incredibly on runaway.
Thank you for you comments, Ivana, especially for your last one below my the latest post - it means a lot to me! <3
    Take care, dear!

    1. thank you darling. I'm glad to meet a fellow romantic.

  4. Your sketches are so amazing as always.

  7. It's nice you're trying different mediums for your illustrations! I think this is the first time I've seen you using just pencil, you capture the ruffles well! :)

Hope you're having a great end to the week with a lovely weekend ahead!

  8. These drawings are amazing, second is my fav!:)

  9. Super su mi obje ilustracije, mislim da je ona prva haljinica baš zanimljiva - ja sam je iz nekog razloga odmah zamislila u crvenoj boji - valjda mi je ljeto već lagano udarilo u glavu haha :D

  10. I love how your portrayed the movement of the first outfit :)

  12. I feel like there is such a contrast to these outfits/illustrations but there is also a good deal to similarity not just in terms of the ruffles but in the grace and movement you managed to capture in both. I'm definitely a fan of ruffles because they are so feminine. I've been wearing my new ruffled shoulder sweater non-stop lately.

  13. Great drawings :) I always like to draw with pencil - it's easier than doing the plain ink without any sketch.

  14. It took me forever to try floral dress and I think it'll take me even longer to finally try ruffles. LOL! I am always behind time.

  15. Gorgeous drawings babe! I love the statement bell sleeves... super chic! <3

    XO Jessi,

  16. Beautiful illustrations, dear Ivana! I would love to wear this amazing dress and of course I love ruffles ;-)

As I mentioned in one of my last post, I'm already thinking about what I might wear for all those festive occasions that are coming up. Autumn and Winter both have its fair share of festivities. Our social calendar can be quite busy this time of year with all the meetings, events, festivities, celebrations, family and work parties. Some of these social occasions come with a black tie dress code, so I decided to prepare some outfit ideas.  A bit of formal wear inspiration for  my readers. All of these photographs were taken the day before yesterday. We're enjoying a rather warm Autumn in Herzegovina but these outfits I'm sharing can be easily be adapted for colder weather. Just throw a warm coat or a blazer over them, and that would be that.  That's what I plan to do once it gets colder. Anyhow, all four dresses I'll be sharing with you today are from Rosegal. This is my second collaboration with this site, if you want you can have a look at my first one here. With…

Fashion Illustration Friday: Inspired by Colours of Autum

Time for another Fashion Illustration Friday talk. We'll talk autumn and share some new autumn inspired fashion illustrations & outfits. Autumn is a season with one of the most beautiful colour palettes. Just think about all those gorgeous gold and red leaves! Even the fruits of Autumn are visually stunning, for example the delicious and juicy fruits such as pomegranates and grapes. With so much to appeal to our senses, it's hard not to be appreciative of autumn. It is a stunning season indeed, so small wonder I was inspired to create some fashion art. Scroll down to see and read more.

Besides enjoying the colours of autumn, I sure love wearing colour in autumn, and that's what I'll write about today. Whether we're talking about accessories or clothes, a bit of colour can take us a long way. Here are some illustrated & photographed colour combos to consider.

Is it too early to start reaching for those festive …

I was thinking about why I like tartan pattern so much, when one reason crossed my mind. I figured that it probably has something to do with the history and the culture behind this particular pattern. After all, I always say that traditional and folklore clothing (be it original or reproduced) carries additional value. Traditional patterns can be such an wonderful source of inspiration. Traditional patters have soul to them, one might say. The history of tartan is particularly interesting. Today we mostly associate tartan with Scotland, but according to some historians, tartan like fabrics were used by ancient Celtic populations spreading across the British Isles as early as the sixth and the eight century BC. Well, that one old pattern for sure! However, even if tartan clothes are really as old as ancient Celts, it is the still Scotland that is responsible for tartan we know today. Did you know that different tartan patterns can represent different Scottish families? Something like …
