Better late than never. Evo pregleda prošlog mjeseca.
Bolje ikad nego nikad. Here is my recap of the last month.
Splendido recap Ivana! I tuoi look sono sempre origilìnali e femminili ma quell'abitino con le ciliegie, secondo me, ti dona più di tutti, sei deliziosa! :D Baci! S http://s-fashion-avenue.blogspot.it
How wonderful these monthly collections are! To be able to enjoy them one by one is so fun and amazing. Took me 15 minutes to get to number 11 and that was as far as I made it tonight. I will certainly plan on returning for the others. You are so lovely and kind.
You are so so so stylish! My favorite is the black and white dress! I admire the fact that you had so many #ootd in one month, I can barely have one per week
So many beautiful outfits and looks, dear Ivana! Love all of them, my special favorites are the numbers 1, 8, 11, 12, 14 and 19, mainly, because they emphasize your feminine touch.
Love these type of recap posts, because if I missed anything I can still simply catch up :) I think your style is lovely, very lady like and elegant. You find a way too look attractive without showing too much skin like a lot of women do these days and I admire that. And I also think that dressing this way attracts men of greater quality at least according to my experience.
All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern novel follows two story lines and uses framed narration. The Island of Missing Trees tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter. This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. I needed to emotionally process the story. The Island of Missing Trees is set in London and Cyprus. The narration isn't chronological . The story jumps back and forth, following ...
Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I'll share a review for a short story The Fall of Edward Barnard by William Somerset Maugham. Published in 1921, The Fall of Edward Barnard is a wonderfully ambiguous and modernist piece of writing that through irony, contrasts the the East and the West. Indeed, you might say that Maugham criticizes the Western culture, or at least its perceived inability to appreciate other cultures, and a simpler way of life. At the same time, this critique is not overly negative and he recognizes the progress that the Western culture achieved. Even while Barnard questions the price of industrial progress of the West, he doesn't ridicule it and is very much aware of its advantages. In other words, this story is extremely intelligent in its contrasting of industrial values with those of countries that are not as industrial. In my last post, I reviewed The Painted Veil and did my best to avoid spoilers. To...
Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I'll review Tenahu , the fourth novel in the Earthsea Cycle by Ursula K. Le Guin. The novel reintroduces Tenar as the novel's protagonist. If you remember my previous reviews, Tenar was absent from the third book, so I was thrilled to read about her again. This fourth novel didn't disappoint. It connects quite nicely with the third one. Published in 1990, twenty years after the third novel in the series, Tehanu takes of where the third novel ended. The Farthest shore is for a variety of reasons often marketed and sold as the last book in the Earthsea Cycle. As I explained it my last post, it's mostly due to a two decades long publishing pause. However, I wonder if there's not something more to it. Isn't it perhaps the case that people were so used to fantasy trilogies that they immediately assumed that this is it? Fortunately, it wasn't! Now, for Tenahu Ursula herself chose the subtitle...
Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! Thank you for your lovely comments on my last Goranci outfit & travel post . Spring is here, but I'm back with another cold weather outfit, beanie and all. The arrival of Spring rarely means that it's time to ditch the coats altogether. Transitional fashion often entails layers and coats. I live in the Mediterranean region and if we're still wearing coats, I imagine you are as well. No need to forget about layering just because Spring is here. I'll also take this opportunity to reflect on my Winter as well. With years I learned to love Winter, and I'm almost sad to let this season go. Almost. One of the highlights of this Winter were definitely the people. There were moments that brought my faith back into humanity, little moments of kindness and warmth. Life passes so quickly but that is what remains- a moments of true connection. That's something that I'm truly grateful for. I know there are people who not only...
Hello readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I'll share two transitional outfits featuring a lilac skirt from fashion designer Stanka Zovko. If you're a regular reader of this blog, you've probably seen this skirt before. Afterall, I'm really good at shopping my closet. I've been wearing this lilac skirt a lot in the past few months. It's also a great piece for transitional weather because it can be easily layered, or dressed up and down. Supporting local designers and artisans is certainly something that pays off in the long run. If you want to own unique pieces and at the same time, support your local community, you should really explore shopping local, or commissioning local artisans and designers. Sustainability in fashion is a big topic nowadays! However, sometimes I feel like people make it more complicated than it really is. We should go back to our origins. Explore vintage, second hand and local shopping. Learn how to stay away from the big shoppin...
