A FEMININE DRESS LAYERED WITH A BLAZER AND AN OVERSIZE COAT (AUTUMN OUTFIT)

Image
Who says we cannot dress colourfully once the weather gets colder? If you like colour, there is no reason why you shouldn't wear colour in Autumn and Winter. Today I'm showing you two things: how to wear colour and how to layer your outfits for cold weather. As you can see, there are a couple of layers to my outfit. First there is this pastel blue Amadeus dress I bought in summer. Speaking of this dress,  here is an idea- why not wear your summer dresses in Autumn as well? I loved wearing this dress during the summer, so I decided to wear it this Autumn as well. The obvious solution is layering. First layer is the icy blue dress and the turquoise tights. Tights are a must for me once weather gets cold. My second layer is the scarlet red blazer. Blazers are a great idea if you want to keep your outfits elegant but still add another layer. What I loved about the pairing of this scarlet red blazer and the icy blue dress is the contrast between the colours. The final layer was a wo...

ACRYLIC BEACH PAINTINGS INSPIRED BY CROATIA/ AKRILNE SLIKE NADAHNUTE HRVATSKOM

Hello! Today I'll let you take a peak in my A4 mixed media sketchbook (by brand royal talens, not sponsored in any way). I know a lot of people like to take a peak into an artist sketchbook, so I'm giving you a chance to do exactly that- at least digitally. This time around, I'll show you a few beach acrylic paintings. I suppose you could also call them my sea studies. When I have some left over paint, I usually end up painting seascape. I'm sure you noticed by now that I love to paint the sea. Indeed, the sea is an eternal inspiration for me. All of these paintings were inspired by Croatian seaside and Adriatic sea, but  not by any specific place. You could say that I painted these paintings from memory. I didn't use a reference for any of them. The time I spend on them varies, depending on how much layers and details I added. I didn't exactly time myself, but paintings with more details took more time. As far as I remember, I worked on all of them for longer ...

THE TELLING BY URSULA K. LE GUIN (BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION)

Image
Hello! How are you doing? I'm still struggling with chronic pains. Yesterday was a particularly difficult day and I can only hope today will be better. On the brighter side, I'm back with a really cool book review. I promised you won't have to wait long for my other Le Guin's review so here it is. Today I will review The Telling , a novel by Ursula K. Le Guin. The novel is set in Hainish Universe, but there is a strong connection with our planet Earth. My first novel by Le Guin was also from her Hainish Circle ( The Left Hand of Darkness)  as was the last novel of hers I reviewed ( The Word for World is a Forest ) here on my blog. My goal is to finish all the books in the series. I also started Ursula's Earthsea Circle by reading The Wizard of Earthsea (highly recommended) and I plan to finish that series as well.  Zdravo! Kako ste? Ja se još uvijek se borim sa kroničnim bolovima. Jučer je bio posebno težak dan, mogu se samo nadati da će danas biti bolje.  Sa po...

MIRKO KOVAČ, GRAD U ZRCALU: OBITELJSKI NOKTURNO (BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION)

Image
Hello readers! Today I will share with you an outfit and a book review for The City In a Mirror , an autobiographical novel by Mirko Kovač.  I cannot imagine life without reading fine literature. I can never get tired of reading. Fashion is another thing I enjoy. I genuinely enjoy putting outfits together. Just thinking of something cute that I might wear lifts my mood. I suppose both literature and fashion are my little joys. It's important to enjoy in little things. In fact, I realized that in life 'little things'  and 'little joys' are not so 'little' at all, rather they are more important than many things that seem more relevant.  When I started this blog, I wanted it to be about things that bring me joy (hence the name of the blog that in Croatian also has elements of a word play- moda oda radosti- fashion, an ode to joy). In life, we sometimes really need to hold onto things that bring us joys. Art is always a great source of inspiration for me. Paint...
