Why Exploring Split City on Foot Makes Perfect Sense? A Visit to Split City During Wintertime

Image
Why Exploring Split City on Foot Makes Perfect Sense? 1. Because walking is always a good way to explore any city. Think about it. There is only as much you can see from a car or a bus. Public transportation in Split isn't that bad, but it might be confusing for a foreigner who is also a first time visitor. Fortunately, most people speak decent English so you can always ask for help, but still you can't see everything from a bus. If you a tourist, strolling your day away has many benefits. 2. Because Split is very pedestrian friendly city. Split is a very pedestrian friendly city. Honestly, I don't think you even need a car to explore Split city. Google map (or just grab a free map in the tourist office by the city's cathedral) will be enough for most people. If you find yourself lost, don't hesitate to ask for help/or directions. However, I don't think you have to worry about that. The city is really not that big, so getting lost is ...

Spring Is Coming.....A Sweater With Statement Sleeves Worn Over a Turtleneck (Outfit Post & Reflection Time)

Image
Today's post is a stark contrast with the last one, isn't it? These images were taken a few days ago when it was warm enough to dress like this. I should also note that I edited these photographs because of overexposure. Most of the times, I don't edit my outfit photographs but the sun was so strong that day, all the colours ended up being way off, so I had to reduce the brightness of these photographs. Today it is rainy, so I don't have to worry about overexposure. Moreover, if were to wear something like this outfit, I would have to add a jacket over it.  Speaking of jackets, I realized why I don't wear this fabulous sweater that often. Recently, when I embarked on a fun activity of window-shopping my own closets I rediscovered this blue sweater with statement sleeves. If I remember well, it was a present from my sister-in-law. The thing with this knit sweater is that it can't fit into any of my coats or jackets. Believe me, I tried. The sleeves are just...

Frozen (Another Winter Outfit Post)

Image
I actually didn't plan to share these photographs, as they are just hiking photos and from a spot I've blogged about not too long ago ( here ) but then I thought why not? Why not share candid photographs of what I wear when it's really really cold? I share hiking outfits all the time, so why not this one? I asked my husband to take some photographs of this spot because this broken glass reminded me of a frozen river.  My husband told me that the broken glass was there because there used to be a glass house on that spot. It's been showing when I arrived to Split a week ago but it didn't stick for long. It's been showing in Mostar recently as well. Just as suddenly as the snow appeared, it disappeared. If you've been watching the news, you'll know  that it's been cold in this part of Europe. We had a few warmer days, but they say that it will get cold again soon. We'll see. I didn't have time to take any nice photographs of the snow in Most...

Painting of The Day: Inspired By Island Hvar, Croatia ( Acrylic On Canvas)

Image
Good morning everyone! Today I'll share with you a new painting of mine. I worked on this one for a few days. For a reference, I used one of my old photographs. As you can imagine, I have a lot of photographs of island Hvar, Croatia. If you would like to see photographs of this beautiful island, I can set aside a special post for that. Today I'll share with you my painting. If you scroll down, you'll be able to see the painting process. The medium is acrylic on canvas. I'm not sure what I will do with this canvas, I'm still undecided. I need to sign it as well. The weekend is finally here and that means what?- well, I guess it means different things to different people. Interestingly, even people who work during the weekend often have a special fondness for these two days. Ever wondered why it is so? Maybe because weekend can often feel like a little holiday. Maybe because it gives a feeling of closure to the week. It is an interesting phenomena to observ...

How to style a faux leather coat in a casual way? Transitional item to have in one's closet #1 (outfit proposal of the day, #casual styling)

Image
How to style a faux leather coat in a casual way? Here is my suggestion.  I paired this faux leather coat with a pink skirt and biker boots. Obviously, a faux leather coat makes for a good choice during the seasonal transitional period. Faux leather is lighter than leather, but it still provides warmth. Faux leather jackets are a wonderful option for the same reason. If it gets too hot and you want to take your jacket or coat off, it is always easier to carry around an item made of faux leather than real leather. Real leather is usually quite heavy, especially quality leather items.  As long as I'm trying to make a contribution to this topic, I might add that I like both the 'off the shoulder' coat and  'over the shoulder' trend. That is how I wore this faux leather coat, 'over the shoulders. Perhaps this trend doesn't work when it's extremely cold, I think it works best when weather becomes transitional. You can also do it when it's cold but y...
