a little place to call my own (art and fashion blog)

This outfit post is really special to me because it encorporates several items that I have made myself. The first one is a necklace that I have made recently using fabric, faux leather and feathers (all recycled materials i.e things I already had at home). The second item would be the bag that bears inscription 'Once a book worm, always a book worm.' The bag is recycled. I have painted the little books and written the proverb on it with textile paints (I'd written about it in detail often enough) Finally, there is a skirt to which I have attacked lace ( by sewing it) All in all, a very environmentally friendly outfit.  It might be said that this outfit is about two things: DIY and flowers. There are flowers both on the skirt and the blouse and that is not the only reason why I have matched them together. I don't usually wear skirts that are as short as this one so matching it with an oversized blouse only made sense. In this way I didn't feel like there was too...

Oil pants on paper. Now, that just doesn't sound right. Yet, I've created a dozen of portraits this way recently (about five or six of them last night between 10 p.m and 2 am.) It felt right. Uljane boje na papiru. To mi nekako ne zvuči dobro. Ipak napravila sam desetak portreta na taj način nedavno (pet ili šest njih jučer navečer u periodu između 22 i 2 sata). Osjećaj je bio dobar.

  Bye, bye June...I must admit I'm not sad to see you off. Still, your lessons were valuable, even if difficult. In this recap I've included random pics and illustrations (I couldn't include them all) There were  things I didn't manage to share, written posts that I haven't managed to post, but that's the way it usually is...we'll see what the next month brings. U ovaj sažetak uvrstila sam nekakav nasumični izbor fotografija i ilustracija jer bi previše bilo uvrsiti sve...i da bilo je stvari koje nisam stigla podijeliti, napisanih postova koje nisam stigla objaviti, ali tako to ide...Vidjet ćemo što nam novi mjesec donosi.

Summer is here and all that so I decided to post one beach outfit. It's been a while since I've published an outfit post, hasn't it?  For me a quintessential beach wear is the pareo . Easy to style and extra comfortable, it can be transformed in a maxi dress, maxi skirt or something a bit shorter in seconds...There are many possibilities. So, what's not to love about that? It is very liberating to be free of stitches, buttons and all that. I hope you don't mind it's from last year because this year I've been to beach only once. The location is Žnjan, Split. Ljeto je tu i tako to pa je vrijeme za jednu odjevnu kombinaciju za plažu. Odavno nisam objavila nikakvu odjevnu kombinaciju, zar ne? Za mene je osnovni odjevni predmet za plažu pareo. Lako ga je stilizirati, jako je udoban, a u sekundi možete ga pretvoriti u dugu suknju ili haljinu...ili nešto kraće...mogućnosti su brojne. Kako ga onda ne voljeti? Jako je oslobađajuće biti oslobođen šavova, dugmadi ...

Come what may I shall love you until my dying day....I imagine this line got stuck in my mind first time I heard that Moulin Rouge soundtrack song (even if there the lines go ' I will love you...' instead of ' I shall love you...' but I guess that may be subconscious regret that the 'shall' is becoming somewhat of an archaic word in the English language) Anyhow, that would be the explanation behind the line and the inspiration for the illustration is the same as the one behind the song: love.
