October- breast cancer awareness month / Listopad- mjesec podizanja svijesti o raku dojke

October is a breast cancer awareness month. Early prevention is very important. Get informed. Read    how you check yourself for early signs of breast cancer (here - or just google it). There are also countless tutorials on youtube explaining how to do a home self-test. If you prefer, ask your doctor do explain the self- check procedure to you. If you notice anything that worries you, contact the doctor immediately.

  7. Really such a nice post, dear Ivana, and amazing illustration! Yes, early prevention is the answer. I know so many people who died from breast cancer, and it is so sad, so terrible, if only they had seen that before, so much life that was still so good to be lived and now... all gone, apart from memories, that should be cherished, of course. Hope you have a very great weekend, dear Ivana!!!!!

    1. thank you Denise. I'm sorry to hear you lost so many dear ones to breast canver...I can relate with you because I lost some family members to cancer as well. My grandfather died of lung cancer and my uncle too (this year sadly). My mother's uncle also died from lung cancer this year ( and he didn't even smoke) When it comes to breast cancer, both of my grandmothers had breast cancer but they managed to overcome it. My paternal grandmother died due to diabetis complications but she lived many years after being treated for breast cancer. My maternal grandmother is still alive, despite all the other health problems she had in the meantime...but cancer is a serious problem, I know many people who died from it too.

  8. Thanks for this important reminder! Early detection is so important and it really saves lives. A good friend of mine discovered a malignant lump in her mid 30's and thankfully it was early stage. She got treatment right away and has been cancer free ever since.

  12. Cancer is no joke and like you said Ivana, early detection is key. I'm so glad a whole month is dedicated to this killer. Hopefully with all the awareness being raised about it, medicine is getting closer and closer to a cure. Not just for bc but for all types of cancers. I had to have a repeat mammogram a year ago and it was very scary. Just getting that call to come back in was like a death sentence in itself. Luckily everything checked out. It does get tricky because I have implants and they try to get good shots from all angles.
A friend of mine is a bc survivor. She documents her journey and vlogs great tips on prevention and lifestyle modifications. I truly pray God a cure for this ugly disease is in sight.
Beautiful illustration of the lady getting a mammogram. You got skills girl!!!
I hope your week was phenomenal. Enjoy your weekend.

  19. Hello Ivanna! I love that you're always changing and mixing different topics (but all connected) in Moda Odaradosti. I have worked a lot in university with breast cancer campaigns because at my school we used to work with some associations. I think prevention is the most important part when it comes to Breast Cancer... prevention and also the value to communicate and! A few months ago my aunt died of breast cancer so imagine how this is affecting my family, of course we're all part of it! It is hard but not impossible!

I really appreciate your art when it comes to this kind of causes!

    Tons of love, my dear!

  22. Bravo za izbor teme Ivanice! Jako je bitno voditi racuna o svom zdravlju i ici na redovne preglede. Takodje, s vremena na vreme moramo se i samopregledati i pratiti da nema nekih kvrzica, ne daj Boze.

WHAT DRESS TO CHOOSE THIS AUTUMN? SPECIAL OCCASION OUTFIT IDEAS

As I mentioned in one of my last post, I'm already thinking about what I might wear for all those festive occasions that are coming up. Autumn and Winter both have its fair share of festivities. Our social calendar can be quite busy this time of year with all the meetings, events, festivities, celebrations, family and work parties. Some of these social occasions come with a black tie dress code, so I decided to prepare some outfit ideas.  A bit of formal wear inspiration for  my readers. All of these photographs were taken the day before yesterday. We're enjoying a rather warm Autumn in Herzegovina but these outfits I'm sharing can be easily be adapted for colder weather. Just throw a warm coat or a blazer over them, and that would be that.  That's what I plan to do once it gets colder. Anyhow, all four dresses I'll be sharing with you today are from Rosegal. This is my second collaboration with this site, if you want you can have a look at my first one here. With…

Fashion Illustration Friday: Inspired by Colours of Autum

Time for another Fashion Illustration Friday talk. We'll talk autumn and share some new autumn inspired fashion illustrations & outfits. Autumn is a season with one of the most beautiful colour palettes. Just think about all those gorgeous gold and red leaves! Even the fruits of Autumn are visually stunning, for example the delicious and juicy fruits such as pomegranates and grapes. With so much to appeal to our senses, it's hard not to be appreciative of autumn. It is a stunning season indeed, so small wonder I was inspired to create some fashion art. Scroll down to see and read more.

AUTUMN COLOUR COMBOS TO CONSIDER
Besides enjoying the colours of autumn, I sure love wearing colour in autumn, and that's what I'll write about today. Whether we're talking about accessories or clothes, a bit of colour can take us a long way. Here are some illustrated & photographed colour combos to consider.

How To Style A Grey Sweater Dress in Autumn? Outfit Proposal of the Day

HOW TO STYLE GREY FOR AUTUMN/WINTER?
I was just thinking how grey doesn't always get the credit it deserves. Sure, there are many enthusiasts of the colour grey, but even among those of us who like grey, there are many lessons to be learned. One of the mistakes we make when styling grey items is to forget that grey does come in so many shades. It's kind of obvious, but it's easy to focus on the classical grey tones and forget to explore this colour in all its complexity. Not to mention that styling the lighter shades of grey can be a great way to refresh our autumn/winter wardrobe. Sometimes it does seem to me that grey is one of the most underestimated colours out there. However, that all might change as grey has been trending a lot lately. For example, you can have a look at some of my runaways picks bellow.
Neutral outfits composed of lighter shades are a great way to stay away from the typically dark outfit combos. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with dark …
