WEAR WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY WHEN YOU CAN

Image
Everyday is an opportunity to play dress up. Even if we're only getting dressed up for yourselves. In fact, especially then- if you're dressing for yourselves. If you think about it, your free time is the perfect time to play dress up. Too many people wear shabby clothes when they're around their house or when they go out for a walk. Don't wait for a big occasion, wear that pretty dress you have today- or whatever item in your outfit that you are saving for the right occasion. Life is an occasion enough.  An occasion to be grateful and to be joyful. Embrace life and joy that it can bring. Wear clothes that make you happy when you can. Obviously, we cannot always wear what we want, sometimes we need to be practical or dress for work. However, only too often do we forget to dress up when we can.  People speak about being comfortable, but isn't a fabulous outfit often just as if not more comfortable than the same old 'around the house' look? DIY PROJECT: SEWING A LACE TABLECLOTH ONTO A SKIRT

Image
Hello lovely readers! How have you been? I've been doing alright, a bit sleep deprived and exhausted  at times but on overall not too bad. I can't complain. I feel like you can't really complain when you get to live on most beautiful island on the world (that would be HVAR ), even in these crazy times. It just doesn't sound right, does it? Anyhow, today I'm showing you a simple hiking outfit that is all about this vintage DIY lace skirt. I do like a bit of lace detailing on my skirts as you might know ( here ), so let's see what you need for this super easy DIY project. HOW TO MAKE A DIY  LACE SKIRT WITH THINGS YOU HAVE AT HOME?  Today I'm wearing a skirt that I 'accessorized' myself eight years ago.  I figure it is a good thing to post about with coronavirus putting a stop to shopping and making many want to alter, DIY, upycle and recycle their clothing items. To this day, this was one of the easiest DIY projects I have ever done and it...

AN UNCONVENTIONALLY ROMANTIC READING LIST: SUDDENLY LOVE, A CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, ETHAN FROME AND ANNA KARENINA

Image
While I was thinking about what to post today, I had an interesting idea. Why not post an unconventionally romantic reading list? After all, what we find romantic is quite relative, isn't it? I've never cared for romance novels as such, but I can think of a number of books whose love stories have moved me deeply. Today I'll share four classical reading recommendations with you: Suddenly Love, a Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Ethan Frome and Anna Karenina.  Only one of these comes with a happy ending, two of them are quite tragic and when it comes to the Cat- I don't think we can tell for sure how that one is going to end.  I always felt that this play had an ambiguous ending.  What do you think? The reason why I'm choosing these love stories with sad and sometimes quite tragic elements in them (apart from the fact that they are great literature) for this list is because they seem more genuine. Love is often idolized, but what does it really means? I love how all of these b...
