READING UPDATE: ROBERT A. HEINLEIN, BRIAN ALDISS AND ISAAC ASIMOV

Image
For me reading is an essential as breathing. As my DIY tote bag says: 'Once a bookworm, always a bookworm'.  Perhaps reading is my way of dealing with stress but then again I also read when I'm all relaxed so I suppose it's just something I do. I read when I'm happy, but also when I'm sad, when I'm busy and when I have time on my hands. So, let's see what I have been reading lately. It's mostly science fiction but there is also one non fiction scientific book.

VISIT RUJISTE (A MOUNTAIN OASIS NEAR MOSTAR ) WITH ME!

Image
Summer isn't over yet and that means one thing: wanderlust. I don't know what it is about summer that makes me want to turn into a nomad. I get this urge to wonder of, explore and be  adventurous .  Today I'm taking you with me to Rujiste (proper spelling  Rujište ,  pronunciation   Ruyshte ) a nature oasis located on mountain Prenj. This mountain is only a short drive away from Mostar city, which makes it ideal for a little weekend (or day) getaway. But I'm getting ahead of myself. I need to tell you a bit about this place first. Basically,  Rujiste is an area located between mountains Prenj and Veles (proper spelling  Veleš , pronounciation  Velesh ). Fun fact: Veles is named after a pagan Slavic god Velesh. Rujište is more a part of Prenj mountain, though. The altitude is around one thousand meters. The peaks of mountain Prenj are significantly higher, over two thousands meters. In fact, the high peaks of Prenj are why this mountain is...

FIVE DISTINCT ADVANTAGES OF 13 X 6 INCH WIGS

Image
Did you know that ancient Egyptians wore wigs regularly? Not that they were the only culture that wore wigs on daily basis. Through history, people have worn wigs for religious, medical, cultural, practical or fashionable reasons. I'm doing another collaboration post with Wiggins hair site because I find wigs a fascinating subject to talk and learn about. Today we'll talk about a new wig design. You know, I can think of a number of reasons why someone might want or need a wig besides the obvious ones (cultural and medical reasons).  Wigs are growing in popularity and affordability. Therefore, they will probably be used more and more. Personally,  I'm definitely a fan of long hair. Even if it can take some effort to maintain long hair, I think it offers so many styling possibilities. Long hair is something of a classic in terms of hair styles for women, many seeing it as a sign of femininity and class. If you want long and/or thick hair but can't wait grow it yoursel...

8 WAYS TO STYLE A WHITE RUFFLED TUNICS: SUSTAINABLE FASHION FILES

Image
Shopping our closets is a great way to be more sustainable. It is something I have always enjoyed doing but as of late, I've also been trying to show you how I do it.  These kind of 'x ways to wear a y' posts can be a good way to introduce fresh styling ideas. Let's get started! An easy way to shop your closet is to choose an item you really like and try to create different outfits with it. I got this white ruffled tunics as a part of a collaboration last summer. Once I figured out that I can wear it both as a dress and a blouse, it quickly became one of my summer favourites. If you are creative enough, you can turn all your dresses into blouses this way (by tucking them in your skirt and eliminating a need for an underskirt or a slip in the process). It is a fantastic way to save up on luggage and closet space  as well.  Another thing I like about this tunics is that it can be worn  two ways: as an off shoulder item and as a regular one. Today I'll show eight way...

FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: RED TURTLENECKS FOR AUTUMN

Image
Sometimes I miss those days when I took fashion illustration (and art in general) less seriously. When art felt more like a hobby, when I could draw something without being self-critical about it, without second guessing everything and without trying to study all the possible techniques to do it. However, once you start taking your art development more seriously, you inevitably get more critical about it. The more time and effort you invest into developing some skill, the more you expect results from yourself. It is only logical, I suppose, for there comes a time when art doesn't feel as easy to do as it used to, a time when you start to question your art and your skills. Suddenly, art becomes difficult.  You cannot have your cake and eat it. Not that I don't have fun with art anymore, but the whole process is growing more and more thought demanding. With every thing I learn, I discovered how much is there yet to learn. What I discovered is that art skills are much alike...
