Is Marjan  hill worth the hike? It sure it. Moreover, if you ask me it is also worth the hype. In a recent post (read it here ), I provided you with a google map link and explained to you how to get to the point where you can enjoy the best view of the city  (and while you are at it, why not discover an old church that is located only 200 meters from it?) Today I will do something even better. I will show you how to get there. Our starting point is the city centre i.e. the famous promenade known locally as 'riva'. From there we will climb to vidilica ( that is the first resting point with  the best view of Split city IMO) and then to the old church I told you about. Finally, we will  climb down to sea level. It always gets to me. Pearl of the sea. This city. These mountains. The sea. The view.  I feel like the time has stopped. The two of us are enjoying our coffee and even more so the view itself. 'What city can  be compared to this one?', I proudly ask my husband. 'Barcelona', he answers in a blink of an eye. Alright, I'll admit.... that is actually a pretty good answer. Uvijek me dirne. Biser mora. Ovaj grad. Ove planine. More. Ovaj pogled. Osjećam da je vrijeme stalo. Nas dvoje uživamo u kavi, a još više u ovom pogledu. " Koji grad se može usporediti s ovim?", upitam ja muža (onako puna sebe). "Barcelona", odgovori on bez da trepne. Dobro, priznajem da je to poprilično dobar odgovor.

Time for another post in my regular feature  Sights To See, Places To Visit . Today I will present one church located on Marjan hill. If you follow me on instagram , you might have seen it as it was featured a couple of times there. The church of Saint Nicholas was build in 1219 by a married couple Roko and Elizabeta. This nine centuries old church is the oldest church on Marjan hill.   Vrijeme za još jednu objavu u mojoj redovitoj rubrici  Znamenitosti za vidjeti, mjesta za posjetit i. Crkvicu svetoga Nikole su 1219. godine sagradili Roko i Elizabeta, bračni par iz Splita.
