HOW TO STYLE A NAVY SUIT FOR SPRING? OUTFIT PROPOSAL & TIPS

Image
EN In my last post, I've wrote about sustainable ways to celebrate Easter and today I'll show you what I wore for Easter. Typically I like to wear dresses for Easter day, but this year I decided to suit up. You have already seen a part of my Easter outfit in my last post, mainly the white linen folklore shirt I bought a few years ago (from a nice Croatian lady who specializes in making traditional and folklore garments). I believe you know that I have a thing for traditional and folklore clothing. As for the rest of my Easter styling, I shopped my closet to pick up this navy blazer. I paired it with navy flares I originally bought to wear to work. Good thing that my personal style isn't a casual one, and I actually enjoy wearing business/ formal wear I buy for work. If you look closely, you'll see that the blazer and the pants are not the same shade of navy blue, but slightly different. This blazer isn't actually a part of a suit, but often I like to create my own...

TIPS FOR A MORE SUSTAINABLE EASTER CELEBRATION

Image
Happy Easter Monday everyone! Today I'll talk about how to have more sustainable Easter week celebration. I'll share some of my tips as well as my 'green' Easter day traditions. Before I get into sharing those tips, let me just say that traditional Easter customs are more likely to be environmentally conscious. So, tradition is a great way to look for inspiration. Ask your elders, relatives and friends about their Easter traditions, they can give you useful tips, advice and inspiration. Naturally, internet is also a great resource for environmentally friendly Easter. There are a lot of creative people out there that are constantly coming up with sustainable decor and recipes, so why not tap into that? Feel free to share your Easter traditions as well. A great thing about collecting green tips is that most of them can be applied to any festivity! My Easter day 'green' ideas include: using natural egg dyes, using recycled Easter decor, not being wasteful with...

IS MOSTAR A GOOD EASTER DAY DESTINATION? PLUS A SPRING OUTFIT PROPOSAL

Image
Luckily for me, Mostar is an excellent Easter day destination. You see, I had travel plans for this Easter weekend, but I caught a bad cold so I decided to stay in the city I'm currently based in. That's actually not a bad thing because (if you ask me) Mostar makes for a great Easter day destination. Naturally, I've would have loved to visit my family, but since that wasn't possible, I'm happy to be spending Easter in Mostar. I've already cleaned and decorated my home for Easter so I'm all set. I've also prepared an outfit proposal but more about that later on. First I'll talk a bit about Mostar. Why is Mostar such a great spring destination? I can think of a number of reasons, but from top of my head I would say wonderful climate, beautiful landmarks and interesting history. Mostar is gorgeous in spring time. With its seven rivers and a number of lovely parks, Mostar can feel like a city oasis.  Spending Easter in Mostar is something I would...

CROATIAN FASHION WEEK: MATEYANEIRA FASHION ILLUSTRATION IN WATERCOLOUR

Image
I can't really attend fashion weeks because I work full time, but with the help of the internet I get to follow fashion weeks digitally. One of the benefits of living in digital times, I guess. If you remember, I have already shared a number of fashion illustrations inspired by  spring/summer fashion weeks on this little blog of mine ( Valentino Spring Collection 2019   1 & 2 , Zuhair Murad Spring Ready To Wear 2019 collection   1 & 2 ,  Louis Vuitton Spring Collection 2019 ). Please don't click the links to buy the illustrations, they won't lead you anymore as my art store was lost and it will take me a while to manually remove all the links (I'll explain this later on in this post, for now let's concentrate on positive things like this cute new fashion painting I'll share with you and the design that inspired it).  I was a bit late with catching with Croatian fashion week because I've been busy with work. About a week or so ago, I finally f...
