My husband told me that he had some great news today while we were having dinner in one restaurant. I was eager to find out what he meant by it and he proudly showed me a newspaper article. It turned out that Klepetan finally returned to Malena and that means that Croatia can finally breathe freely. You see, Klepetan and Malena are a couple. Not just any couple. A bird couple. More precisely, they are storks. They have been together for 15 years and I reads somewhere that together they managed to raise 54 chicks. Impressive, isn't it? But that's not all.  Malena can't fly, so as you can imagine every year she awaits her lover eagerly. Every year he flies back to South Africa with all the other storks. Every year, he comes back to her. During his absence, she is taken care of by kind people. This year Klepetan was late. Really late. Everyone thought he was killed...but I was sure he will come back. Finally he returned to Malena and kicked out an impostor stork tha...

Here I am with a new drawing. It depicts a girl wearing an off shoulder blouse. It is appropriate for Spring, I would say. I will have to take a break from drawing with pencil for a while. My right hand is swollen and sore. There is only as much work as our hands can take. I think I will stick with painting for a while.  I should probably give that a rest too. Remember that DIY project I have recently blogged about here ? Well, those boots aren't the only thing I decided to paint with Bleu di Prussia (Prussian blue) acrylic colour. In fact, I also painted one pair of high heels. This pair had a snake print that I decided to keep. So, what I did was to apply only one layer of acrylic paint. In this way, I managed to preserve the original print, I just made it less fleshy and obvious. Today I'm sharing two pencil drawings with you. For the first one I used a photograph from Matija Vuica's Instagram account (you can see it here ) as a refrence. Matija Vuica is one of my favourite  Croatian fashion designers. If I had to explain why in one sentence, I would say because her designs are unique, dramatic, feminine and theatrical. The second drawing is a fashion illustration of one Croatian singer wearing one of Vuica's creations. That one I did in typical fashion illustration style, so for that one I didn't use a specific photo for a reference.
