MY FASHION ILLUSTRATIONS: SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING OLD AND SOMETHING BLUE

How is life treating you, my lovely people? Today I'm back with another fashion illustration post. Recently, I went exploring my art collection because I wanted to gift some of my art to a friend of mine. As much as I love art, I must admit I quickly became quite bewildered and overwhelmed in the process. I do my best to organize my art, but somehow my efforts don't seem bring in results. I have so much drawings, paintings and illustrations- in all possible mediums. Different mediums need to be stored differently and at times it seems too difficult a task for one person. I'm not exactly an expert on storing art. I know how to make art, but how to take care of it is a whole another skill. Sometimes I don't manage to storage my art properly and it ends up getting destroyed.

Trying to find space to properly storage all of my illustrations and painting all is proving to be a challenge. After a while I felt utterly tired, so I gave up on trying to organize my art and just left it as it is. The whole episode made me feel down. I know that it should be the other way around. I know that I should be happy that I own so much art, but somehow I'm not. It is hard to explain. Does that ever happen to you? That you can't manage the things you have? That you just can't handle things? I don't want to sound ungrateful. I'm grateful that I have a chance to live, to breathe and to pursue art. I'm just saying that it's not always easy. Sometimes I feel like abandoning it all, fashion illustrations & art, but I know I won't because I'm addicted to it.

Anyhow, today I'm going to show you some of my new & old fashion illustrations. I've been sharing a lot of my art lately, haven't i? I've also been making tons of it and man do I feel exhausted. Therefore, I decided to make today's post short. Perhaps better to say I decided to make the writing shorter. I'm going to prove that I can post something that isn't two thousand words long. However, there will be plenty of photographs and art so the post won't be that short. I'm hopeless, I know.

NEW FASHION ILLUSTRATIONS

I've been experimenting with making fashion templates for myself. I always made my own, I never copied others so I decided to copy some of them and then use them to drew different outfits. Do you get what I'm saying? Draw a body, copy the illustration in a copy machine and then drew an outfit over it. It seems like a good way to experiment with fashion templates.  Scroll down to see what I mean. Bellow you can see my original drawing decorated with rhinestones (you already had a chance of seeing this one here) followed by a copy drawing I drew over.

I've also made some fashion collages for you. The one above features a girl wearing a purple gown in the snow. Needless to say, it is not what I wore when I took this photograph. I dress a bit differently when it is snowing. Bellow you can see a collage made with one of the photographs I took at Buna some time ago and completed with my new fashion illustrations. How do you like it? I've been drawing green outfit lately. I've also been kind of obsessed with polka dots, scarves and polka dots. My fashion illustrations often reflect my fashion obsessions as is only logical, I guess.

As I said, I've been working on new art. Bellow you can see a mix of old and new art. I'm planning another giveaway next month, so tell me if you see something that catches your eye. You can give me suggestions about art giveaways, I'm quite open to that. I'm thinking maybe one giveaway a month. What kind of art would you like to receive? Just don't say the girl in the red dress because I have already gave that one away.

OLD FASHION ILLUSTRATIONS

I'm exploring the idea of copying some of my fashion illustrations. Perhaps that will make organizing them easier. I do have a copy machine at home  so I made some copies. It was interesting to see my works printed in black and white. This is a Balenciaga fashion illustration I made a few years ago, but I'm not sure have I shared it yet or not. I think I only shared it on my Instagram

Below is a copy of my watercolour fashion illustrations by Stella (on the left) and Chanel (on the right). They look quite interesting this way. I don't typically sell my prints, so I don't have a lot of experience with the whole printing process. All the art to be found in my tictail shop is original, but I have a print option available in my redbubble shop. Maybe some day I'll sell my prints as well, depends on the fact whether the originals will sell, I guess. If they do, then I might ibest more time into that.

BALLET INSPIRED ART

While browsing my old art, I also stumbled upon some ballet inspired art. It's been a while since I last saw a ballet performance. Well, I suppose I can at least see it on paper. How do you like these two illustrations? I also decided to do one collage...and that would be all for today.

  2. My dear! You are so talented!! <3 Believe me.. everyone could see in these works so much passion, art, light and shadows.. so much emotions, something that only art can explain! I love green to, you know? Maybe because woods make me feel better, leaves male me feel quiet, and my depression is less strong when I can see green tones in Nature or flowers, blue sky and white clouds. Mia cara stella, sei veramente brava. Ti voglio bene!!!!

  4. These are all so beautiful and creative. It's like you speak through your art and you have a beautiful artistic voice.

I also know what you mean about getting overwhelmed sometimes even by things I should be grateful for. When that happens, I'm slowly learning to turn to my loved ones for help and they help me put things in perspective.

  5. This happens to me all the time. I have so many clothes that often I am overwhelmed by it because I only live in a small space, but they bring me joy and are my passion, so I find often it's because we can't organise things well, or we don't have the room, so it makes us down about something we love.

  16. I just adore the ones with the jewels on them Ivana. For some reason the mix of media just seems to add so much interest to the art.
As for storing them, that such a good question. At least you take photos of them, because in a way, that's keeping it all in one place.
I do that with my knitting projects. I try to take a photo of them and keep the printed photos in a photo album since I give many of my pieces away.

  17. The jewels are such a fun addition! :) I find it hard keeping things organised, bot art obviously, I have no talent there, haha! But just general things in the house - it's difficult having everything perfectly organised and stored away !I'm trying to declutter more so we have more space, but the toddlers are quite needy so I can't always dedicate the time I'd like to, to tidying up!

Hope that your week is going well :) Still so hot and humid here with the heatwave!

  20. Dear Ivana, I think it is a blessing that you are creating so many art! I see again how talented to are and therefore each single illustration and other art you created are important and enriching for this world! But I can understand you feel overwhelmed and I can imagine it is difficult to organise all the art. Maybe it works when you take pictures of your art, give each picture a number, write down the number on the art and put a collection of art in a box and another collection in another box. Than you can make a table in your computer with a little picture of the art and the number. Maybe you can even sort your art according to the subjects? But honestly I'm convinced you will find the perfect solution for you.
Thank you for sharing all the wonderful things you have created recently and in the past!

    1. That's a great idea.I think the best thing to do would be to opt for a single format, maybe A4 or A2. That would enable me to store them with more precision.

  21. The fact you love to create art in a range of different mediums suggests you're a true artist Ivana - control isn't a word artists love anyway, haha! :) I love seeing what new illustrations you'll come up with; the different textures in particular are a lot of fun to see!
